Would a harder compound tyre, with lower tread depth be a good idea?
The harder compound to reduce 'marbles' and general tyre debris off the racing line and allow, maybe, more overtaking, and lower tread depth to make it neccesary for tyre replacement during a race.
What do you think oh wise guru's? :?

The thought of bringing back slicks is being mooted by some people, in fact teams will be testing them in the near future. Now, I'm not an expert on this, however, I think bringing back slightly harder slicks may be a good idea. As you say marbles on the side of the track would be reduced and it would claw back some mechanical grip reducing the need for these silly winglets we see on the cars which, again, would promote overtaking.

Make that +2 :)

Removal of the winglets will decrease the emphasis on aerodynamic grip and the cars will also look sleeker and less messier. The less aerodynamic downforce created will create less dirty air behind the cars and increase the slipstream effect meaning more overtaking. :)

Yep, I agree with that too. Some winglets are really there to make 'dirty' air rather than create downforce. The cleaner the better.
