In summary and I hope you all agree it was a great race and one we have not seen at Monaco in what 15-20yr's?

It was a very good race. Perhaps not the best in all that long... but it was a very good classic Monaco race. Had it not been for the strange ending, but then again, Monaco is classic for those kind of events.......

The battle for the lead was incredible. To have that big crash happen right in front of the leading 3 cars on the pool section... that was epic. I'm sorry it ruined the last 10 laps of the race... but man, that was amazing.

Other than that... i really can't see how anyone could possibly defend Hamilton after this race. He made mistakes all over, and got handed the regular and expected penalties for the mistakes he made; which not only were out of order, but also had race-ending consequences for the other drivers. Then he goes on complaining about the stewards and the drivers defending when he is one of the dirtiest defenders on the grid. Shut up and take it like men, stop acting like there's some grand conspiracy scheme and that the 'stewards' are ruining racing :irked: own up!!

Hamilton is the perpetual rookie.

i respect your opinion but i dont agree with you, purely because lewis is not a dirty defender, he fights his corner hard, just like other drivers (alonso, vettel, schumi), and also im sorry to say if all the other drivers have a dig, then lewis has a right to have a go at them also!, plus this a mans game not for boys sorry to say!

I agree with EVERYTHING you say but what ive bolded, its just not true at all. Theres countless instances where he just sticks to the line he was on, its every other driver that consults the manual immediately and does their one allowed move. (or for schumi, 5) Hardly ever see Hamilton overtaken anyway :hehe:

I think we all should be allowed to rant and rave behind a keyboard as long as we don't get escalalate this into a 'if I ever catch you on the streets..." bs. just saying...

Great race, Jenson driver of the day just very unlucky, Seb was very lucky but still drove well. Lewis was a disgrace today, the red mist descended and he made some bad decisions in the race then sought to blame everything on bad stewards and his colour, bad show Lewis. I can understand the frustration but as Eddie said he should have slept on it before talking.

One point that has been raised is whether the situation where Schumacher passed Hamilton was similar to the situations where Hamilton was trying to pass Mass, and Maldonado. And whether these were equivalent.

I haven't seen proper footage of the Schumacher pass, but it looked from the in-car footage that MS drive right up alongside LH before turn-in, and hence had the right to the racing line. However, with Massa and Maldonado, Hamilton was much further back, and nowhere near alongside when they reached the point where they had to turn in. In which case, both Massa and Maldonado had the racing line and the right to turn in.

Hence I don't think the situations are exactly the same, as some seem to want to paint them.

Better footage of the MS pass may help clear these things up.

How many people here actually think somone else other than Vettel is going to win this year's WDC? I mean the guy has 2 race win advantage in his pocket. Unless he finishes out the points in at least 2 races this year...it's a done deal for him. Even bookies are already starting to call the season and are paying out already.

Schumi hit Hamilton at the first corner and was hardly looking to overtake and was not even alongside him. Then later on at the hairpin I think Lewis went well wide and that's when Schumi just sneaked past easily.

I agree not sure you can compare those overtakes/incidents with Hamilton on Massa and Maldanado.

Ok... i guess i exaggerated. He's not really all that bad while defending, and the times he's done some weird defensive moves he'sbeen either penalised or at least called upon...

so let's just leave it at... people should stop defending such silly mistakes. Its one thing to be a good driver and to actually have some great abilities. and another entirely to defend poor races and choices like this one. There's not that much to say, except those were very silly mistakes. Doesnt take anything away from him, except the poitns he lost and made the others lose. But in the end, its either take the risks or not...

Thats the problem when one car is so dominent, unless you have two good drivers in the same team the title is over very quickly.
Yes its as over as it can be at this point in the season.

The title is Vettels, youve got to hand it to him, whilst his 2010 was far from convincing, he has been absolute untouchale so far this season,

at the risk of some of here not finding it good enough i still dont rate him too high. Thats the cars fault not his.

He shouldnt get pole at only Monza and Canada this year. And thatll be that.

True I hope this season isn't actually over already.

it will be sad as McLaren have the pace but as a team still make stupid decisions again and again. Perhaps some people are right is Martin Whitmarsh to blame for some of the errors since he took charge?
