Because "fine" in Italian means "end", and that's exactly where JB's career is, nearing its end. Apart the one fluke season, JB has had quite the middling F1 career, and Ferrari already is full-up on middle-age drivers (by F1 standards) whose Prancing Stallion can't catch a Red Bull.

Jenson is running LH close. LH is shading him, and FA IMHO would shade him too. But Jenson is fast enough to keep on picking up solid points and some wins (if in a faster car). If you have two too equal drivers, then the intra-team fight will be too intense, and counter-productive. Jenson is fast, but not too fast.

Ferrari is not quick enough now, but was the car to beat for a fair chunk of last season, and it's quite feasible that Ferrari could again have the top car, even as early as later this season.

Nobody knows. But i doubt it. It does seem Jenson is happy at Mclaren, but he would never say... i love so much being here i'd ride for free. He's gotta show he's got options or he'll get hit with a penny for a salary.

On the other hand, he's gotta show he has the skills and speed. So far, he hsnt been masacred, although he's been owned in Q... but on the races he's been decently ok.

He still needs to up his game so that by 3/4 of the season he may be able to put a price on his seat. Until then, anything he says is just print for media....

I don't think he would have ended up that high had the crash not happened. Still, I hope it bumps his confidence up a bit and he starts driving with a bit more passion. Watching his team mate own him week in and week out while Button smiles it getting a bit old. He needs to be a bit more disappointed, a bit more embarrassed and a whole hellofalot more desperate to win.

 good job today. He's very good round Monaco...
Now, he needs 3-5 performances like this to start being acknowledged as a threat.

i've got to a stage where i'm rather torn over jb. one the one hand he's a nice guy, he's british and he's driving for a good team. however, of late his performance is really lacking some passion. since his championship it's like he's coasting and doing just enough to keep his seat. now if he would drive like he did on sunday more often it would show just what a great driver he really is. i can't see a move to farrari changing his attitude and making him want it all a bit more. also, so far over the last couple of seasons the farrari cars are not showing any more speed than the car he's in. as for finding alonso's chinks......he's not doing such a great job with lh at the mo, i doubt he's going to fair any better with alonso really.

i think jb is home to roost.
