I remember Jan Magnussen, jackie Stewaart(I think it was) had great hopes for him but he was a dissapointment in F1.
My point was that Lewis did better than Kovi prior to F1 and he has now proved himself in F1also . Kovi will be good but not as good as Hamilton. he takes longer to learn things too :D

i've learnt this year that you never know for sure. i thought FA would dominate LH and win the title but look what happened. Kovi could do the same thing if he is in a fast car next year.

I suspected alonso would have his hands full but I fully expect Lewis to dominate Kovi next year, tho not to the point that Kovi looks bad, Kovi is good and could win races if the McLaren is ok.I think they will make a very good pairing.

IF Alonso goes to Renault and they produce a good chassis he will definitely be a strong front runner. I have never disputed Alonso's skill as he has a great deal but I hope he is man enough to help Piquet out with his knowledge of car setup so they can strengthen the team as a whole.

My Guess is Renault will go further down feild, and spend time fighting back up through the mid-feild, a bit like Williams.

Agreed, and even if they do recruit Alonso. Renault have probably suffered the most from Michelin's departure from F1 and it looks like it'll take a fair while before Renault are completely happy with Bridgestone's tyres.

If Renault are penalised (see 'Renault $200m fine) then it might not be a good move for FA.
Out of the spygate frying pan into the spygate fire for FA?
I predict that Renault will be the biggest losers next season, especially if they are penalised.

Kovi not faster. Look at both their histories prior to F1. Look at how quickly they acclimatised to a new formula. Lewis' records are way the best. Mind you Kovi whooped Schuey at race of champions in Paris 2 or3 years ago in a Ferrari(not F1) that was ace to watch! :D Ive liked him ever since :D

Sometimes quick progression through the lower formulae doesn't translate into F1 success. Anybody remember Erik Comas? Totally walked to the F3000 title in 1990 and then struggled with Ligier and Larrousse? I suppose you could say in this one that his chances were wrecked upon arriving at a Ligier team that was in complete chaos with personnel not co-operating with each other, and a crap chassis despite using Lamborghini V12's for 1991 and then the same Renault V10's that Williams used for 1992. It also practically wrecked Thierry Boutsen's career as well, but then things didn't get any better for Comas when he moved to the struggling Larrousse team for 1993 and 1994 before dissapearing altogether afterwards. Perhaps Comas' career might have gone better had he joined a better team.

Also remember Jan Magnussen? Walking his way through the ranks, impressing on his F1 debut
deputising for Mika Hakkinen in 1995 and then his F1 career going downhill and ending with being sacked after the 1998 Canadian GP by the Stewart team.

Just goes to show that sometimes walking through lower Formulae won't guarantee you to be the next Lewis Hamilton. :)

What do you mean the next Lewis Hamilton? He hasn't won anything yet.He bottled it big time whereas ice cool Kimi showed him how to do it.How can we determine who will be faster and more consistent than who regarding Lewis and Kovy when they were in totally different cars last year. It's purely speculation. I cannot believe that the only 2 time world champ on the grid hasn't got a top car never mind A car for next year. Has the world gone MAD

I think you'll find Alonso deciding between a long term deal with Renault and doing a year with Red Bull then switching to Ferrari...

Not a bad couple of cards to have up your sleeve. McLaren is just waiting to see what Alonso is doing before they sign there next driver. Barichello is good at being the bridesmaid, they should partner him with Hamilton...

Nope world's not gone made,"only 2 time world champion on grid", has just been descicively outdriven and outpsyched by a sensational rookie, thats all. And on past histories sensational rookie is set to fair better than very good rookie from Finland :D

They meant nothing in the end my friend.Lewis went home with nothing after leading the championship for nearly a whole season whilst Kimi and Ferrari toasted the glory, drank champagne and had a right good laugh at McLaren , FORZA FERRARI

Yeah hehe, it was pretty embarassing for McLaren, they should have won it. Ferrari stole it from under their noses, well, I always believed it was there for the taking. Just look at Kimi's last 4 races, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 1st... Sucker punched them when they weren't looking ;p

I can detect the pain and embarrassment in your words Bud and I feel for you , I really do. The whole F1 season dominated by Hamilton/Alonso and McLaren and they end up with nothing. The guys at Ferrari are still on the floor laughing. After being exposed as cheaters(Why didn't they protest if they weren't), I firmly believe the more nose rubbing the better and lets face it they deserve everything that is coming to them. I cannot wait till we get rid of that "water carrier" Massa and bring the 2 time world champ and coolest guy in sport Fernando Alonso in. Japan apart Kimi and FA were toying with Hamilton in the last 5 races.FORZA FERRARI AND FORZA THE GREAT FERNANDO ALONSO, WE LOVE YOU MATE
