Yup. Unfortunately, the F1 field spreads out a lot during the race, and you get these moving pylons named HRT and Virgin, and sometimes even the quicker teams like Toro Rosso. It's part of the deal.

I think that race drivers need in general to stop moaning and get on with the job they are paid millions to do! Being held up is part and parcel of Grand Prix racing; as long as they backmarking car doesn't pass three blue flags then he is completely within his rights to hold his line to not compromise his own race.

well most of the time the drivers are asked a question by a journo, they answer it. It's not like they call a press conference to vent...

"Definitely in the last race there was some of that" was Lewis' first line, reads to me like he was answering a question.

I think the problem is some fans need to chillax and listen to drivers points of views as they are the ones in the hot seat, not you.

I don't believe a penalty was required as the Toro Rosso yielded before the third blue flag; and I disagree; because they happen to be a backmarker doesn't mean it's not important. Come the end of the season every position counts as that counts towards how much money a team gets from FOM!

I would say Lewis would whole heartedly agree with you. His point is that the Toro Rosso team might be trying to manipulate the outcome, and every small action or turn of the wheel can advantage or disadvantage someone massively. Over the course of the season, the pros and cons even out, though it will be a cause of concern if Toro Rosso is acting in 'favour' directly/indirectly of Redbull, against the others - it becomes unsportsmanlike conduct.

I see it as mind games from Lewis, especially saying it in Monaco "hope the stewards keep a close eye" so when he comes up behind the backmarkers they get the hell out of the way.

This isn't the first time STR has been accused of this, but from what the director chose to show the world a HRT did a great job of holding Lewis up!

Having previously claimed that Michael Schumacher blocked him during the Spanish GP in an effort to help Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton now insists that Toro Rosso is out to thwart him.

In the run up to this weekend's race in Monaco, the Daily Mirror claimed that Hamilton was "fuming" following an incident in the latter stages of last weekend's race.

The British tabloid quotes Hamilton as saying that this weekend's event in Monaco is his team's best chance of giving Red Bull a "bloody nose".

"It's going to be the toughest it has ever been especially with the degradation of the tyres, the marbles and people moving off line," says the McLaren driver.

While the rest of us are under the impression that Schumacher moved aside allowing both drivers through - which is supported by their lap times - the Mirror asks Hamilton if he had words with the German. "I didn't want to waste my time or my breath," is the icy response.

Schumacher totally denies the claim, telling reporters yesterday: "I don't recall it and I don't think it would make sense because I think I have a lot more... although Seb is my friend, but then Lewis is running a Mercedes engine and that's obviously a lot more important to me, not that I try to favour or not favour anybody. No, that certainly must have been a misunderstanding, but not my idea. I try to keep out of everybody's way and just do my own thing."

So now, Hamilton has turned his attention to Toro Rosso, Red Bull's 'sister team', claiming that at Barcelona Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari also attempted to delay him during his fight with Vettel.

"They let Vettel past and then they held me up," he told reporters. "Definitely in the last race there was some of that, all of a sudden they were moving in my way, causing a bigger gap.

"The gap that I closed to him (Vettel) I lost," he continued. "That wasn't cool. If that continues to happen then some penalties should probably be handed out. I just hope that the stewards are wary of it."

Lewis wasn't complaining about simply being held up - he was complaining about the STR letting Seb through right away, but waiting as long as legally possible to let him through. So waiting until it's convenient/safe to let a car behind you pass is not the issue - it's treating all cars passing you equally.
