If you want to be totally black and white about it then yes, but that would be ignoring some of the very valid points raised by both them and other 'neutral' parties in support of the ban. I think there are far more arguments against keeping the technology long term than for it really, as i stated previously.

i think its just total rubbish to be honest, the sport will thrown into disaray, now i have no problem with teams with raising points and concerns etc. but this isnt even valid and who cares about hrt anyway?

Well what you think doesn't matter. What Colin Kolles say is not rubbish and he does in fact raise a point of interest. Just because you don't like HRT doesn't mean they aren't qualified to raise their voice...they are in F1, they are racing and they have as much right as Redbull and McLaren to speak up.

I dont know exactly how you took it. To reiterate, what he thinks of HRT is unjustified, he seems to have blind hatred for them, as if they don't belong in F1 which is bogus.

Colin Kolles has every right to speak up, and saying things like "who cares about HRT anyway" is just downright demeaning...I dislike Ferrari intensely but they deserve respect as much as every other team out there, and yes as much as HRT do. They are a fantastic team which has a group of people working their a**e off, and it won't hurt showing them a little respect whether they are dominating the grid or at the back of it.

I agree wholeheartedly with you, but hes entitled to think HRT are useless etc.

IMO every f1 team has as much say as another.

i wouldnt mind so much, but its just a daft point to be totally honest, if there was a safety issue or whatever, but there isnt any of that.
#257087
McLaren were the prime candidates who were harping on about Redbull's front wing whole of last year and a bit of this year, is there any "safety" issue in that?

What about Ferrari and Redbull picking on McLarens F-duct? Safety issue?

Renaults mass damper system a few years ago. Safety issue?

Brawns double diffuser got banned thanks to a collated effort from various teams. Safety issue?

I could make a massive list of teams cracking the whip for the FIA to take action, all not based on safety issues. If all these teams are entitled to voice out, what makes HRT any different?

If its illegal its illegal.

There clearly is some form of reasonable grounds for protest, as the FIA sort of already banned it, although one reporter said they repealed because the teams said the rule didn't say what the FIA said it says.

The teams with the blown diffuser are breathing a sigh of relief, but I can understand why HRT would be pissed of.

Because they are losing out to Redbull and McLaren? Yeah I can understand, clearly a PR stunt to get HRT in the limelight!

The rule doesn't change because they're the only teams not using it.

The FIA backed down, but at one point they clearly thought it to be illegal. It's bad practice.

but you have to look at what HRT will gain from this? HRT are not in competition with these teams, not even with Williams or the other lower teams. For me the fact they are the only team that has come out and said they will protest on the eve of the biggest race of the year for sponsorship well, Have you not seen their cars lack of sponsors? enough said.
