I'm sure by that time we'll find traits we dislike about him. It's like the crush you have on someone, at that stage she/he is the perfect Goddess/God...and you work your way into a relationship and you start finding faults...and marriage you want to kill yourself LOL

I'd welcome Kobayashi being signed by Ferrari. You'd then have Alonso to pick up the maximum number of points, and Kobayashi to entertain everyone with fiery drives.

Could it be possible that there is a driver everyone on the forum likes? Imagine if someday Kobayashi was leading the championship... We'd all have nothing to argue about

you are the definition of naive.

it's in fraffypants genetic make up to find a reason to go against the grain. :hehe: but seriously folks, there isn't anyone that's come out against Kobayashi?

from a statistic point of view italian drivers arent as successful as say the latin based south american drivers. sauber have ferrari support and its kind of fair to say thats where ferrari are scouting the next big thing, but id say theyd choose sergio perez he has this retro latin charm and hes got a somewhat gilles villeneuve driving style about him.

mexicans make good racers they treat the finish line like the border......get across it as fast as possible lol

yeah i have the feeling Ferrari look after the Sauber drivers. Only problem is TELMEX is blue...... although Claro is red...

He'd have to drive a Mclaren MP chassis with a Ferrari engine and sponsored by Red Bull. And drive for an independent team, with no teammate to beat. Instead of rising his index, he could rise his middle finger...

that would be a likeable character

nobody had/has a reason to hate vettel....... and then he won races.

someone will find a reason to hate him, hopefully the vettel fans who havent experienced their thunder being stolen yet.....

alonso superstar, hamilton shows him up, hamilton superstar, vettel shows him up, kobayashi joins rbr to be no2, vettel jumps off a cliff.

MOA posted this in the Barrichello thread and I thought it was best to respond to it here.

Personally I like Kobayashi because he is a good driver and he doesn't complain; having sh*t happens attitude and gets on with it!

One of the things that I noticed about Kobayashi is that there is a certain Japanese culture aspect he brings to the sport. When he drove from the back of the field to get his point in Turkey, he had told Peter Sauber that he was going to do that, that he would score points for the team. Stuff like that, that's not readily publicized goes further than anything else in showing what that driver is made of.

I think Kobayashi would get board at the front of the grid, he would have no one to overtake

He can let drivers past and overtake them afterwards.

I was browsing around Wikipedia today and noted that both Sato and Kobayashi are equal on career F1 points (44). Obviously the points-scoring system is different these days, but you can see that Kobayashi has usually been quite consistent. Currently Sato is listed as the most successful Japanese driver in history - would a points-finishing position in Monaco for Kobayashi hand that crown over to him?

Or do they consider success to be the number of podiums one has achieved? So in that case, Kobayashi could get 200 career points but won't take the crown until he gets on the podium once?
