Let's be realistic, there will be no rain tomorrow! Vettel will probably win, the only question is What will happen behind him...

The ghosts of Turkish GPs past. :hehe:

But seriously... I'm off to pick my placings in the fantasy game, and I'd imagine there won't be a single person betting against a Vettel P1.

Pretty good effort from SF, especially when you consider that China was less suited to the RB and Turkey is ideally suited to them, lots of high df areas. So, catching up as much as they did is great. Fingers crossed for the Tifosi, we have a chance at a podium. Need to get our strategy and pit stops spot on.

Looks like Mansell's record for most poles in a season (14) is gonna go this year then...

Good job by Rosberg. It's Vettel's to lose tomorrow, seeing as Webber will probably get jumped at the start because Rosberg is on the clean side of the grid. Am i right in thinking Red Bull have a new set of softs still, while no other frontrunners do?

edit - also, what happened to Massa in Q3?

I hope he is right and lap time wise, Ferrari have improved (Compared to China just like Alonso says). But Alonso was lucky to get 5th ahead of Button who stuffed something up. He backed off at the end of qualifying. I wonder what that was all about? Anyway I hope this time Ferrari get the strategy right and nothing goes wrong for them.

They did improve the car but so did Mercedes, based on today's Q3 results, Mercedes is now the 3rd fastest team on the grid. Alonso got the car where he did because he's Alonso, and he over drove it. Lastly SF had more laps on their tires (16) than all the other Q3 teams.

Let's see what happens with race pace and the weather.

No idea. Some say its just going to be cloudy. Some say 20% chance of rain. Some say rain. Some say rain/showers the day after the race. Who do you believe. I guess we
ll have to see tomorrow what happens.

Yep, definite improvement. And, I can't overly stress that Turkey compared to China really suits the RB. So, to make up 6/10s is a mighty effort.

Also, Q trim and performance is very different to race trim. At each of the 3 previous races, Ferrari has improved more than a second a lap on the difference in Q - more reason to be optimistic of a good result.

Last positive thing I can think of is, if you look at this morning practice session, when teams practice both race and Q trim, on their fastest laps on their long runs, all the other teams - Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes did their fastest laps and immediately pitted. Both Ferrari's did more laps - 3 in fact. Times were within a tenth, so, we matched the other teams and had more fuel.

Loved EJ on the beeb saying that Nando is loosing motivation

I predict the weather will be unpredictable :)

Forecast here is saying zero percent chance of rain tomorrow.

What your saying has been the same case in most of the grand prix's, and still no ferrari podiums..... why are we to believe now that mercedes are ahead, or a mercedes is, that tomorrow ferrari will fare better then before?

Watched qualifying with 3 Italian Australian mates, only McLaren fan.. If only I recorded our convos would make the forum sound tame lol

hehe at least you've got cool friends. ;)
Thankfully, any 'international' confrontation can be quickly resolved with the new duck chart :D

yes, they did show some improvement. More than simple lap times, if you look at the comparison of different cars they showed around turn 8, the Ferrari is finally looking sharp on a high downforce turn. The previous races they've looked kinda sketchy.

Massa must have gone trhough some issue near t he end, as he was putting some really good times at first, maybe he just saved that extra set of tires and wasnt able to bomb a lap on Q3.

That scene with Vettel getting out of his car and taking his gloves off was a mighty statement. :censored:

What your saying has been the same case in most of the grand prix's,

Not really, in China (not a high df track) we were 1.5 seconds behind RB in Q. Here in Turkey (a high df track very suited to the RB) we are 7 tenths closer in Q. So that is a bit different. Also, as I mentioned, in race trim the gap between Ferrari and RB closes done by about a second. I'd be really happy if anything like that happened again tomorrow.

and still no ferrari podiums.....

Yep, the only good thing I can say about missing podiums, when you do get one after a drought, they are very enjoyable - so got my fingers crossed for tomorrow - who know with a bit of luck we might get there.

why are we to believe now that mercedes are ahead, or a mercedes is, that tomorrow ferrari will fare better then before?

Great effort by Nico (as I said earlier) and the Merc team, they have continued on from their good work in China. I think both cars are very close so, by my reckoning, we have a chance.

I'm also really looking forward to the little battle that might develop between Felipe and Shumi ....
