The best news so far is Vettel has had zero dry running so far this weekend. Hopefully he won't have his optimum setup come qualifying. I'd go as far as to say this is our best chance of a NON-Redbull pole!

This track is a bit of a beast in the wet, i gotta say.

after watching that crash... seems like it could be really interesting in the wet that turn there in the wet could be the most difficult turn ever.... and even in a dry race, near the end of the tyres cycle it will be pretty interesting as well.

I hope it doesnt rain, it just might be a great race.

I looked very closely at the McLaren cars today in practice and there did seem to be a pronounced rake a la Red Bull, that wasn't there in China.

Blimey the weather forecasters will never hang themselves yesterday it was going to rain both days.Guess we will have to wait and see

Much as it would make the race very interesting, don't forget Vettel still has third practice to sort out his set-up, I'm sure an hour in the dry (if it stays dry!) would get him right up to speed.

I really enjoyed both practice sessions seeing how the cars were struggling in the wet, and the developments in the dry. Good to see both Mercedes up there at the sharp end!

Turn 8 remains a great challenge, especially in the wet. Also, Turn 11- the amount of off-roading at that fast turn was incredible. Especially from Schumacher Will miss this circuit immensely if it gets dropped

Encouraging times from McLaren in P2- something good to build on there.

To me, a pretty clear breach of the rules yet again by Red Bull which just goes without comment or punishment. They can cover a damaged car or part, but under no circumstances can they screen the garage.




27.4 of the Sporting Regs
During the entire Event, no screen, cover or other obstruction which in any way obscures any part of a car
will be allowed at any time in the paddock, garages, pit lane or grid, unless it is clear any such covers are needed solely for mechanical reasons, which could, for example, include protecting against fire.

In addition to the above the following are specifically not permitted :
- engine, gearbox or radiator covers whilst engines are being changed or moved around the garage ;
- covers over spare wings when they are on a stand in the pit lane not being used ;
- parts such as (but not limited to) spare floors, fuel rigs or tool trolleys may not be used as an obstruction.

The following are permitted :
- covers which are placed over damaged cars or components ;
- a transparent tool tray, no more than 50mm deep, placed on top of the rear wing ;
- warming or heat retaining covers for the engine and gearbox on the grid ;
- a rear wing cover designed specifically to protect a mechanic starting the car from fire ;
- tyre heating blankets ;
- covers over the tyre manufacturer's code numbers (not the FIA bar code numbers) ;
- a cover over the car in the parc fermé overnight ;
- a cover over the car in the pit lane or grid if it is raining.

During P1 or P2 (can't recall), one of the BBC guys said if a car is damaged, it's common for the teams to be allowed to put screens up, since parts of the car are exposed that would not be under normal circumstances. No, it's not in the rule, but the rule seems to at least be bent consistently.

I know you have quite a disposition mate to believe/read basically anything into events to reach a negative slant on SF.

It does leave me a little perplexed that you find RB blatantly breaching FiA rules acceptable.

You've given no proof that Ferrari in any way breached the gentleman's agreement when they did their filming day (which was scheduled long ago) for their website - but you choose to believe they did something wrong. At the end of the day, there has not been one shred of evidence that Ferrari did anything but filming.

A tad harsh on SF, very forgiving on RB.

I thought my post was sarcastic, it was meant to be. But I dunno it's not that big a deal, does entire event include thursday? Because last year I did a pit walk on the Thursday with my platinum pass and many teams had their screens covering the garage.
This breech should warrant a small fine at best.
