All of you who have not attended a race live...you really need to remedy that. Seriously. Watching on TV is no substitute for the real thing. And I'm saying that in the kindest, person-who-has-been-poor, most non-preachy way possible.

Give up the fish and chips for a year, or the cider, or vodka...or the extra kid! Yesss! It is that worth it :D

Just send them extra kids my way - I'll have them over for dinner.:dindins::wine:

1. How long have you been a race fan?
That's hard to say. I've enjoyed racing video games for probably twenty years, but as far as watching real life racing, I didn't start until the start of the 2008 Formula One season, which is still the series I follow most closely but since then I've also started watching various other road racing series (not NASCAR) from around the world.

2. What was the first race you attended?
I haven't been able to attend a Formula One race yet, but look to go to the GP in Austin, Texas next year if things work out between now and then. I may swing by Mid-Ohio this summer and catch either ALMS or Grand-Am (not sure which). Otherwise, so far I've only seen local dirt oval racing in person.

3. What was the first race you saw on television?
I forget. I've only faithfully been following racing for a few years now, but I've seen an occasional race here and there over the past couple decades. Somewhere back in the 1990s I ran into some rally, which seemed neat to me at the time. (Sadly, I can't ever find it here in the US now, unless it's rallycross.) I also distinctly remember watching at least one open-wheel race back in the early 1990s, but I remember basically nothing of it except that it was on a road course with a city skyline plainly visible nearby. I knew nothing of motorsports at the time and had no idea what series I was looking at or what the difference was between different series. I'd imagine it was either Formula One or Champ Car.

4. Name your three most favorite racing venues of all time.
Ouch, that's a tough one. It's hard to narrow down just three.
Spa-Francorchamps
Monaco
Nurburgring Nordschleife

5. Who are you top 5 most favorite drivers?
Now how can I just pick a handful?
Ayrton Senna
Alain Prost
Michael Schumacher
Jackie Stewart
Lewis Hamilton

I couldn't help but squeeze Hamilton in there, but honestly it was at the expense of any number of other drivers I'd like to have worked in there.

Optional Questions

6. Married – children – pets?

Yes, not yet, yes.

7. What is your Occupation – Industry?
Around in my region there isn't a whole lot of opportunity, even with an education (college), but it's my home. I presently am a blue-collar worker in a manufacturing plant which makes frozen food. It's a decent-paying job for this area, but not that great relative to the rest of the country. I expressed interest in taking on a supervisor position but they won't promote from lower down the ladder, insisting instead on hiring directly into management positions straight off the street.

8. What are your favorite things to do not related to racing?
I'd like to actually do it (as a driver), but it isn't in the budget.

9. What is your favorite food?
Heck, I dunno. I like steak and turkey a lot. Pizza is high up on the list, and I eat a lot of hamburgers. Can't go wrong with fries or mashed potatoes.

Erm..., since terminology varies..., by "fries" I mean:

10. What do you drink?
Mostly soda pop, especially Mountain Dew. I like milk, especially chocolate milk, but I seem to have a hint of lactose intolerance, so I don't drink a whole lot of it. I suppose it could instead be upsetting my irritable bowel syndrome. I don't drink (alcohol).

11. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to make video games. When I was in high school there were virtually no places to get a degree for that, and the one that I knew of was expensive as hell and no scholarship options were available for that college at the time.

12. If any… Who is the most famous person you know?
Nobody of any fame that I can think of.

13. List the top 5 TV shows of all time.
Don't feel like fooling with it.

14. List your top 5 movies of all time.
Don't feel like fooling with it.

15. Who is in the image on your Avatar and what's the significance.
One of Ayrton Senna's cars.

You are babysitting not eating the children, DD! Haha... silly you!

Shhhh! Subtle is obviously not in your vocabularly, DD. I can't be sending the babies your way if you're blatantly eating the poor things.
