400 billion of tax payer money, 6000 soldiers and 10 years of occupancy and finally they have something to brag about. And they didnt really do much of that either. They threw his body into the sea a couple hours after killing him and burned the compound in which he was found in.

Also, anyone see that story about NATO forces killing Gaddafi's kids and grandchildren? Dont worry, it was easily eclipsed by this.

If you're saying that the last 10 years have seen a colossus waste of lives and resources, I agree. The second part is confusing though... are you trying to say anything else with your statement? It reads as if you were hoping for a bigger "show".

I'm not hip to all the details, but I don't think I'd call the whole pursuit a waste. Who knows what else that guy and his group could have accomplished if they weren't being chased all around the desert. Were there people taking advantage of the situation for their own gains? Sure, and that sucks. Was the price high? yes, of course. Too high? maybe. The "Patriot" Act was certainly a tough pill to swallow.

Don't get me wrong, I'm about as anti-war and liberal as they come. It's easy to look at those figures and criticize. But my question in response is this: "What's your alternative?" Surely you don't mean they should have gotten a pass just because it was too difficult.

I agree with this

And I've been away from the net or tv etc playing basketball. What's this about dumping his body in the ocean? I heard they were applying Muslim law and respecting his body.

I think we're far from getting the full details, but the only explanation I've come across so far was that it was a decision taken to prevent there being a central gathering spot or a rallying point for those seeking to support and continue his cause. No grave, no place to lay the wreath.

By the colossus waste portion I was primarily referring to the war in Iraq. The only alternative we have is in the future the past can't be changed.

Well, the war on Iraq is unrelated to the pursuit of Al Qaeda, right? That's what I was referring to with the, "people taking advantage of the situation for their own gains."

That wasn't the people... that was a very insidious form of government we (the people) had to endure.

Haha i was not hoping for a bigger 'show'. Just trying to stir the pot for conspiracy theorists.

I was just trying to imply that maybe the whole "Osama is dead" may just be a ploy to draw attention away from NATO's baby killing and direct targeting of the Gaddafi family after NATO's unreasonable denial of a ceasefire offered up by the Libyan leader.

If someone were to believe this, the burning of the compound and quick disposal of the body would make sure that no evidence can be brought to the table to support the claim.

NATO's unreasonable denial? What about his unreasonable acts of violence against his own people? He doesnt want to relinquish power, no matter what the cost. Plain and simple.

People will always question infamous peoples deaths, same was for HItler, i mean even Elvis never died apparently... But to be able to test his DNA they would have had to have kept some remnants of his body. DNA is all the evidence needed.

Surely they retrieved some DNA and I hope they took pictures.. I believe Obama, but I imagine some conspirocy theoriest will argue that he might not be dead, just like the birthers saying Obama was not born in the US..

On my blog; a comment was left simply saying "Obama IS Osama"... guess that was from one of the birthers.

I am sceptical about it as we've heard before that Bin Laden was dead; the quick burial at sea and the compound being burnt to the ground is awfully convenient!
