After his "wrong box" episode in China, and that previous barefoot Nascar incident, apparently McLaren decided to do some extra pit stop practicing with Jenson.

Things didn't seem to improve...

So the team have made a small mod to his car for Turkey.....

Heikki is not welcome! I want to see Lewis performing 100% instead of just 80% and still thrashing his teammate... :hehe:

Either the MP4-26 is rather large or that Airbus is rather small :hehe:

:hehe:

It's an American AF refueling plane so I doubt it's an Air Bus... I'm good with planes but not so much with the cargo, my bet is that being a Boeing something or other. :hehe:

Still not as bad as:

Well, Singapore '08 and Brazil '09 were scarey, potentially dangerous things.

Jenson's incident was just a simple mistake - nothing dangerous.

I can not see the video as I am in work but if it is the refueling one I am thinking about it is a C17

Hello to my personal tifosis.

So what kind of mood do you expect the Schum to be in following the Chinese race - down in the dumpers or up in the clouds? Quite honestly and obviously it is not one or the other. But if you are saying to me, it has to be one or the other, Michael, then it is the clouds.

I was not able to enjoy the best qualifying but I can see that the potential for the car is there, even though it is my team-mate who is getting it. Lielblings Pudgie Wudgie Donut Face says she is going to get me a T-shirt with 'Schumacher - P11' written on it to wear after every qualifying.

It might also help our races if they put a proper amount of fuel in the car. Between you, me and the gatepost I can tell you that we were betting our best chances on there being a Safety Car in Shanghai.

As my old friend, the NASCAR truck-driver-in-disguise David Coulthard told viewers, there is on average 0.9 of a Safety Car for each Chinese Grand Prix. Given that we have some excitable rookies in the field and the first corner goes on forever, Ross thought we could maybe get away with running light behind the SC.

I enjoyed a nice race with many overtaking moves that for a change did not all involve Kamui Kobayashi. My children, when they were little, enjoyed the Disney character Captain Hook, who was always followed around by a deadly crocodile he could not get rid of. In F1 my crocodile is Kobayashi. I have Kamui and Fernando has Vitaly Petrov. It is our destiny to always be stuck with them at vital moments. Or for Fernando, Vitaly moments.

Still, at least I did not do what Jenson Button did. I am a big fan of Jenson so I do not say this to undercut him, but as our former engineer Jock Clear used to say, "what a planker, Roderick." He is trying to make a light out of it at the end of the race, but I would love to have given a pfennig for his thoughts when he realised he was heading for the wrong box.

Perhaps the model car maker Minichamps could release a special edition diorama of the McLaren in the Red Bull pitbox. They should do this because then Jenson would have to buy them all up!

There were some other consequences from China. I now know who will be stepping into the Schum's boots when I finish at Mercedes in 2012. Who do you think Norbert is talking about here: "We always knew he was a very good and very talented guy, and when he gets in the right groove - we saw it in DTM - it can be very special for him." No, it's not my brother Ralf. Obviously.

I am going down to the bookmakers right now to put four monkeys (betting slang for a considerable amount of cash) on Paul di Resta being the next driver signed by Mercedes GP. Norbert described him as "exceptional and remarkable" and to me that is Haugspeak for 'there's a contract in the post'. Paul is managed by Anthony Hamilton so Norbert will probably know his address already.

I am reading that Adrian brain-the-size-of-a-planet Newey is getting fed up with everyone talking about the Red Bull front wing running too close to the ground. He should be so lucky. All across the grid there are people not satisfied with their packages. It is like the clumsey postman's first day*. (*Pudge has signed me up for a new internet Distance Learning course - 'Be Creative In Your Blog')

Ferrari are trying to analyse where things have gone wrong, Williams are not sure which way to turn and Virgin have asked my old friend (Uncle) Pat Symmonds why their car is like a broadband service - not as fast as you thought it was going to be. So Adrian should be happy that he is the person the critics are taking potshots at.

At Mercedes we are looking forward to our new step for Turkey and I am full of confidence in our direction. I promise you, I will not be wearing my P11 T-shirt.

Yours,

The Schum
