Pool all the money each team brings in, divide it by 11 or 12 teams - that's the money they get and are allowed to use, with each penny accounted for and monitored by UBS or Credit Suisse bankers. Whoever has the most money left at the end of the season will get the weight of their 2 drivers in Swiss chocolate :D

I actually think you should have to drink pints of beer before the race depending on your qualifying position.

If you qualify P1 you have to neck 22 pints of beer.

P22 and you only have to drink 1.

I'll team up with Lewis and be his 'buddy' driver - I'll drink the beer he can do the driving - trouble is - if he got pole I'd be unconcious for the race. Racechic can have the chockies.

Seriously though, maybe sponsors could be invited to sponsor the sport, as opposed to a team, and do like DD suggests, this money is divi'd up amongst the teams, and sponsors would have their names on several cars. Second thoughts though this wouldn't work either because most teams - Ferrari, BMW, Honda, Toyota , Red Bull etc are, to a large extent, self funded, - third thought - thats OK teams would not be equal but the smaller teams would be getting more dosh. As you can see I make this up as I go along so its probably all rubbish. Is it lunchtime yet?

The FIA could keep issuing $100m fines to all the teams for stealing the idea of four wheels and a few wings. No-one will have any money to spend, keeping the costs to an absolute minimum :D
