Why even bother doing Quali when you can just make your way thru the field with fresh tyres

No kidding. Makes me wonder what would have happened if he qualified 1st-4th, and RBR made him ALSO stick to a 2-stop strategy... probably would have finished much further down than 3rd. Funny how stuff works out.

One of the most deserved victories I've ever seen in F1. I'm a Ferrari fan but hey, I admit that Lewis has proven to be the driver more able to adapt his driving style to the tyres, and his performance today was the best expression of strenght and power of concentration possible. He has been perfect from the start to the end. That man, never gives up, and you can bet he will be a pain in the bottom of his opponents forever, hat on! And GREAT GREAT has been Webber too: to start from 18° pos and to arrive at just 2,4 seconds from the guy who set the pole does not happen every day.
McLaren is less far from RB than I thought it was, while sadly, Ferrari is still far away from even understanding what's wrong: slow in qualifying, not bad in race but still extremely far away from the top, and honestly I don't think it's just a matter of managing the tyres. Today, after the race, all Domenicali has been able to state was that "to start from the front row is better than to start from the back". Wow, I was shocked by such a brilliant line of reasonment: I thought that only people like Einstein would find out that the pole position is a better position than any other one: well, I was wrong.
I'd say that Ferrari is now very very disoriented.
Jenson's pit stop pretending from RB team to change his Tyres was hilarious, but seriously, I think it was really just a mistake, he stated he was focused on the wheel, it may happen. But ROFLMAO!

So, why does Ferrari get to break the rules? Both drivers broke the rules during the race, Alonzo opened DRS illegally and Massa crossed the white line at pit exit and neither was even investigated. I don't get it.

Excellent,it was proper strategy, in the sense that teams had to think quickly and wasn't all from a computer printout made before the race.

Lewis and Webber really pulled it off, good move by Lewis saving those tyres in qualifying. It proved very useful for Renault in Malaysia, and perhaps it was a reaction from Lewis after what happened to him in Malaysia.

Rosberg's first pit call was a bright one, made up positions on fresh tyres and should've finished 4th apart from his fumbled overtake on Massa.

Not sure if the 2 stop strategy got Vettel second or lost him 1st.

I think Massa was right, he should've been on a three stop strategy. I won't be surprised if he does get a penalty from crossing the white line, but maybe he didn't cross it on entry to the track? Can't remember the wording of the rule. Good racing from Massa though. Went on a bit of a charge after the first pitstop, and his interview showed a return to his cheerful face, no longer that lost looking guy. Think his relationships within Ferrari are better, maybe the assurances Ferrari won't automatically back Alonso?

Not sure what happened with Alonso's DRS, the wing opened very briefly. Ok race I think, but I think he's just waiting for the updates in Turkey.

I think the best overtake was Schumacher on Petrov, if I remember correctly, it definitely was from Schumacher.

Actually it was the pit line, but since during thourdays' briefing it was estabilished that drivers were allowed to cross it,end of the story: Ferrari didn't break any rule.

I would never be too sure of that. If we see a situation this season where Massa is leading with Alonso not far behind, I'm sure all ears will be on that team's radio.

The drive-through penalty requires the driver to enter the pitlane, drive through it while obeying its speed limit, and exit without stopping. Drive-through penalties are normally imposed for minor offences, for example crossing [b]the white line at the end of the pit lane [/b]before passing over the end of the line, kerb-hopping at chicanes, ignoring yellow flags, or cutting corners. As a drive through penalty does not require the driver to stop at their pit, it is less costly to a driver's race times than a stop-go penalty.

As said, they decided it was allowed four days ago, otherwise, drive-through would have been the penalty.

I would never be too sure of that. If we see a situation this season where Massa is leading with Alonso not far behind, I'm sure all ears will be on that team's radio.

I doubt it, we had that situation at the start of the race. Later on in the season, Ferrari probably will back one driver.

What happened to Alonso? Not too much, he lost to Massa with a poor start, followed him closely. But got caught up with Schumacher later in the race, and dropped too far off the leaders.
