I guess I just set the bar higher for SUPERstar. Like multiple championships instead of an accidental one

Hear that noise?

That's your credibility flying out the window.

Funny how you never tire of your hyperbole about JB, but then turn around and question my credibility when I put your exuberance in perspective.

Hyperbole? I called him a superstar, not a legend. And it's nothing about your attempt to put things in perspective which loses you credibility, it's this:
an accidental [championship]

Those don't exist.

Now, DD, you are clearly attempting to start a fight. Trolling, if you will. I'm having serious deja vous for some reason...

So anyway, I'm going to ask you to cut it out, because it's not working this time.

So Lewis has to be "Perfect" to win WDC? While Seb crashes left and right and has a ton of failures and still came on top and won WDC.
The MP4-24/25 were not WDC contenders by a long shot.It was Lewis' aggressivnes that took him far and if he had an on par car he wouldn't need to be. Jenson drove mistake free and see where that got him.

Exactly. Lewis made 1 real mistake the entire season and that has immediately become "The WDC throwing mistake".

Alonso jumpstarted, cut chicanes, crashed, basically drove like a ninny in the first half and he is the heroic 'comeback' of 2010. What a JOKE.

In my opinion Hamilton was responsible for his collision with Webber in Singapore; Hamilton had plenty of room to go around the outside but elected to chop Webber; Mark Webber simply held his line; that has to go down as a Hamilton mistake, it was exactly the same situation as Webber/Vettel in Turkey, Webber is entitled to hold his line and make the overtaking driver go around!

Well this one will go down as a question mark. Lewis was on the racing line, Mark wasn't. Mark has a reputation of not knowing when to back off when he's lost a corner, and as usual he pushed the issue and caused an accident. He did the same in Melbourne (hit Lewis TWICE), he pushed Vettel very far up the inside in Turkey (Vettel wouldn't have made the corner by braking on the dirty line), and he couldn't face losing the position in Singapore. He reminds me of Montoya sometimes... "if you want to pass me, we'd both have to burn" kind of mentality.

Good thing he's nowhere close to Lewis on the grid for tomorrow! I was worried in Malaysia, he was directly behind.

Accidental is probably an exaggeration but really Jensons WDC doesn't really prove him to be the best in the bunch or anything. It rates similar to Damons WDC....but easier to accomplish due to the circumstances (car advantage) involved.

The fact you're allowed to express an opinion does not mean the rest of us aren't entitled to call you out on any aspect of it that is BS. I am perfectly entitled to express my belief that you are trolling, and to ask you to stop it. It's against the rules. Admin or not, you are still subject to the rules, DD. I would perhaps give you the benefit of the doubt, but this is not the first time you have deliberately attempted to have a fight with me.

If you have any further complaints, I would ask that you take it to the PMs, because I'm not taking the bait DD. Not this time.

To those who keep repeating that Lewis lost the 2010 championship because of rookie mistakes, I repeat, he made less rookie mistakes than Alonso, Vettel and Webber. Button made less than lewis but finnished lower. It really is tiresome that this keeps being brought up despite the evidence to the contrary.

Back on topic. I think Lewis wants and intends to stay at McLaren so long as his car is somewhere abouts. If for some reason McLaren began producing cars that consistently qualified out of the top ten then I guess he'd look elsewhere. I dont think he's said any different to that.

There's more on the story here : http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/ap ... f1-mclaren

He'll learn that moving teams does not automatically guarantee world championships; just look at Alonso and his move to McLaren from the team that he won his two titles with'; Renault and later his move to Ferrari, neither move had/has yielded another world championship as yet.

Lol, i think Lewis is smart enough to know moving to another team does not mean titles, in fact i would bet all F1 drivers know that. :banghead:

I love the way you disregard every persons opinion if it goes against the Lewis Hamilton is God mentality with a  or :banghead: emoticons. Hamilton needs to get his head down and work to resolve the issues with his team instead of complaining and making statements to the press like the statement this thread concerns. McLaren had a potentially championship winning car in 2010 but Lewis threw away his championship lead with silly rookie mistakes and assumptions that other drivers would give way to him when he pulls alongside. He needs to look at his own performances before he starts blaming the team for his own mistakes. Initially I liked Lewis Hamilton but over the years I have grown to be very apathetic to him because of his "it's the teams fault" mentality.

I'm sure this will be an unpopular statement; but there is it; my opinion ladies and gentleman!

Lol, you really know how to talk rubbish.

Should i actually go through this with you or should i just keep laughing.

Yes, yes, yes I know nothing whatsoever...

Bottom line is; Lewis Hamilton could have won the drivers title if he wasn't so hot headed in Monza and waited to make the pass and if he gave Webber more room; he would have passed Webber cleanly in that corner or in the next few laps, his hard charging attitude is his biggest strength and biggest weakness, McLaren provided a race and championship winning car, you have to remember that Hamilton only finished 16 points behind Vettel in 2010; if it wasn't for those two retirements he could have been world champion, these are FACTS!

You can't single out Lewis for his mistakes while not the others it's just plain illogical thinking! What if What if, the top 4 all made mistakes funnily enough Lewis made the least yet gets the most flak? Again illogical!

Why are you homing in on only Lewis? If you want to play the IF game, IF his tyre had held up for 1 more lap in Spain, he's still WDC! FACT! Please don't give me "he pushed too hard"...Bridgestone admitted it was a compound 'failure'.

If you list out each drivers mistakes (Top 4 in WDC) you might see it is very unfair to just list out Lewis' "what ifs" mistakes.

Exactly. And this is why I had the big disagreement with Gaz over Vettel's championship.

I'm in a strong position - Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton said that his decision to only carry out one flying lap and preserve tyres in qualifying has left him in a stronger position for the Chinese Grand Prix.

Hamilton took third on the grid behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and his McLaren team-mate Jenson Button. The front two both set their fastest times on their first runs while Hamilton waited in the garage, as he sought to avoid a repeat of Malaysia where he damaged tyres in qualifying and had his race strategy compromised. Despite being outqualified by Button for the first time this season, Hamilton said the decision would benefit him in the race.

"Jenson did a fantastic job to put his car ahead of me, but I sacrificed a bit of my own pace to enable me to have a fresh set of Options [softs] for the race," Hamilton said. "We took the decision to complete just a single run in Q3. Of course, that was a compromise, but it means I'll have a fresh set of tyres for one of the stints tomorrow. And last week's race in Malaysia showed us how important it is to have fresh tyres for the race.

Today's strategy should increase my chances in the race. It's always good to have a fresh set of tyres in the bag, and I wanted to make sure I had options to cover everything. To be able to put on a new tyre at the end of tomorrow's race will be a great positive and will help the longevity of the tyres."

Hamilton also said that he was pleased with how McLaren had improved the car overnight, having been uncomfortable with the updated MP4-26 during Friday practice.

"We made some really positive set-up changes on Friday evening and I was much happier with our car today," Hamilton said. "I just tried to maximise my chances for the race because that's where it actually counts."

Ahhhh, memories. It seems like only weeks ago that the Hamilton fan club were swearing up and down that he will never leave McLaren. :cloud9:

Oh, hold up...it was only weeks ago....

 It would be hysterical if he went red.....the carnage it would cause amongst the anti-red crowd would be the stuff of legends...keyboards smashed, I heart Hamilton posters ripped from the walls.....carnage I tell ya.
