They are consistently the fastest in the pits, yes.

forgot about this until now, but I'm sure everyone watching the China GP on BBC heard Brundle mention that the FIA basically ignores the passing rules at the beginning of the race. Weird that they admit there's such a grey-area in the regulations.

which is why I brought it up again. To be fair, it is not in writing at all, so I can see why it was questioned.

It is, after all, fairly impossible to enforce that rule at the start of a race.

Then why not revise the rule to say, "after the opening lap..." or "after X amount of laps..."?

They had no problem doing that with the DRS regulations.

wish I was sitting there but we sat at inside of the parabolica turn so didnt manage to catch the turn 1 carnage

But the reason we chose that stand was it was close to the podium and we managed to invade the track and got up close with the celebrations.
