No; I never said he had to be perfect but he had a shot of the title before his collisions that cost him good points hauls and set him adrift of the title leaders, that was not the teams fault! The 2010 McLaren was a championship contender; both drivers were in with a shot of the title during the season run in. Yes Hamilton's aggressiveness helped his cause but the car still has to be capable of producing wins; no-one can out drive the car; that driver is simply maximising the potential of the car! So therefore the McLaren was a world championship contend car!
So Lewis has to be "Perfect" to win WDC? While Seb crashes left and right and has a ton of failures and still came on top and won WDC.
The MP4-24/25 were not WDC contenders by a long shot.It was Lewis' aggressivnes that took him far and if he had an on par car he wouldn't need to be. Jenson drove mistake free and see where that got him.
