Hambone would be the class of the field if McLaren could substitute the power of his mouth for that of his KERS.

Stiff upper lip? Never heard of it.

True colors shining through, he will not be a McLaren driver his entire career.

Everyones gotta ask themselves three things:

1. How much would Hamiltons driving style and ability be loved by the tifosi, if they are true to their holy doctrine they support whoever drives for them, the teams success is first.

2. How ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN AWESOME would it be to see that shiny yellow helmet in a shiny red car, that actually makes me happy in my pants.

3. THE FORUMS RIVAL FAMILIES THE HAMILTONSOS AND THE FERRARISTAS WOULD CEASEFIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

God forbid. Worst thing ever for McLaren fans. Lewis driving for the red team would be the ultimate Judas act in F1.

Im not really a Mclaren fan, i just like their lineup. Im a Lewis, Schumi and Kobayashi fan. And Lewis to Ferrari would be a DREAM move for me.

My turn

McLaren will never build a team around Lewis :( The only year the team focused on him and had a good car he won WDC. Look at Alonso, his 1st year at Ferrari he has them on their knees, look at the treatment Vettel gets

McLaren will NEVER win WDC when trying to please 2 drivers with the equality game, specially now that Team Orders are legal.

My 2 cents

Yeah, could be. Are McLaren likely to stick with the Mercedes engines beyond that point or might they change? Will they try to tempt a new manufacturer in to pair with them for a long-term deal? That's something to look out for, although a separate subject altogether.

The word on the grapevine is the 2013 McLaren will be a works McLaren. Building their own engines seems to be their next big move.

Regarding the topic...It's probably all bluster. But Whitmarsh is hinting he wants to keep both Hamilton and Button for up to five years or maybe even more, so even if Lewis does decide to disrupt the dream team, McLaren have a superstar driver on the books.

If - and I very much doubt it'll happen - Lewis does jump ship, I'd really love to see Paffett get the nod. It's unlikely, but that'd be awesome.

ive had a thought about it and i think the media have played lets get lewis to give us a comment and we'll twist it 180 degrees :hehe: lewis wont leave mclaren.

I think we(Not me eprsonally) are trying to kid ourselves. Winning a WDC for a team and racing for them now onto five years is enough repayment for their sponsorship throughout his childhood.

Even if you dont think it is, a lot of people will, Hamilton namely.

However this is only if your reasoning is that you dont think he'll be "disloyal" , if you think he wont leave cause Mclaren are a top team etc, then my point isnt relevant, but if you think he wont leave cause hes loyal........

Its not like Ron Denis is in charge either is it. Plus theyre changing his engineer like a babys nappy.

This is all bluster for more cashola. Mclaren is right up there with the Red Bulls... Barring Ferrari getting it's act together the next best option is Renault at the moment. I don't see that happening.

When Webber leaves I could see RB trying to scoop up Lewis, but other than that this is a non-story.
