While I would love to see Kubica back, I think it would be completely if they just plop Kubica in place of either driver especially if they are doing really well. As far as maldando showing his stuff, I say, he's better off somewhere else. Williams sucks. Plain-and-simple. There really is no excuse as to why this rich history team sucks THIS MUCH. I mean even Virgin and HRT are lasting longer.

I do not agree that Williams' "sucks"; because they did well in the past has no relation to what's happening today in F1; Williams are struggling because they can not match the resources of teams like Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari, in reality Williams are in-there will Mercedes and Force India, Williams will improve over the season. But that's beside the point of this thread, but I don't believe that Williams will be such a bad move for Heidfeld should Renault let him go.

Williams are true, true racers. Some teams in the past have been in F1 for commercial reasons, others simply to follow a manufacturer trend. But Williams are one of the teams which are in F1 just for the racing. Car racing runs through that team's veins, and it doesn't matter if they have a bad few years. The strive for victory will always power them on.

Well, I've always been a supporter of HRT too. I've never blasted them. The more teams the merrier, in my opinion. Great to see them make qualifying this time.

But yes. Back to Kubica.

That's not the way F1 works; how many years were Ferrari out in the wilderness scrabbling for points back in the early nineties before Michael Schumacher and Ross Brawn resurrected the Scuderia? Plenty of "successful" teams have had their tough times, yet no-one has accused them of "duckling", if I have to pick a team to support; it would be Williams or Sauber as they have no wares to sell via the prestige of F1; they're love of racing is what keeps them coming back every year, regardless of success; that has to be admired! Yes I get disappointed when Williams fail in their quest for points and glory but I know they'll be back next race giving 110% trying to push the team up the grid, I believe Heidfeld's experience will help Williams in that cause!

My take is I think Kubica will be out all season long. Then next season, Petrov will stay and Heidfeld will go either to reserve or very likely will go to Toro Rosso (they need drivers and have let it be known they are looking even now).

Petrov will likely stay due to the upcoming Russia F1 race and his strong financial backing. Kubica, as much as I dislike him, will return as he is a very strong driver. And Heidfeld probably will be offered a Toro Rosso gig which he will take over any reserve or test driver offer.

I am annoyed at this really. I think he would of been 1# or 2# but it seems Heidfeld is a talented driver nonetheless. I think Renault's 2012 lineup has to be Kubica & Heidfeld. Just like the BMW days

It's like the have put there old launch system which dominated the old days, I think given the right driver IE Heidfeld could use this to his advantage.

Despite being close rivals at BMW, if you watch many of the little features BMW did throughout the season, they did genuinely appear to get on quite well. As for the text, it looks like it was originally written in German and run through a web translator or something.
