Also beautiful drives by Seb, Jenson and Nick.

Jenson lives up to the expectation of making the tyres last longer this time

this is getting SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO old. If McLaren had a bit more brain Lewis would have easily been 2nd. But whatever, in a week he'll show you once again that Jenson isn't the same class

I don't think it was McLaren's fault entirely. Jenson did a 3stop and so did Vettel on car that is meant to be harder on it tyres, so it must have been possible for Lewis to keep the tyres alive. Then again Webber seems like he always wears them out quickly based on his last to races.

Lewis' last set went off quicker than expected maybe because his car was damaged aero wise after Alonso smashed his back.
What I was confused about was why they brought Lewis in so early off his secod set which was hard. Why not leave him longer and put softs on for the last stint?

Great job by heidfeld. Good to see button on the podium and very pleased it was not hamilton. Alonso should have been up there but there is always next time.

Yeah we know you don't like Hamilton. Alonso would have been up there if he overtook properly, as it was he was beaten by Massa :D

Must congratulate Vettel today and great job by Button and Heidfeld. Im amazed the rain stayed off.

I agree.

Yet again it's Lewis team that makes the mistakes of pitting him to early and the mistake of the time they took with the 3rd pit stop. Lewis knows this but he can't really blame the team in public.

As for Alonso he was desperate to get pass Lewis and was seeing red.

This is only the second race so it's really not a problem.

Roll on China.

I was thinking maybe the way Lewis had his car setup was more adversely affected by the difference in the 2 tyre compounds. Jenson said in his interview that the hards made the car feel better to him while it seemed like Lewis was struggling with them even before Alonso rear ended him.

Yes great job by top 3 drivers but someone needs to put the breaks on Vettel's wins.

If that was the case, why give him hards again for the third stint?

I can explain this. Button had more fresher sets of tyres.

The fact that Lewis' 3rd tyres were hard confused me too, it seemed all the other front runners were going soft soft soft hard. But given his stop timings I think if hes went soft for his 3rd set he would have had to run even longer on his final set of hards and that just wouldn't have worked

Also I remember the commentators saying that Lewis had one less set of tyres because he damaged a set in Qualifying

Yes, it was just a mistake, he had nothing to win doing it, he was pushing because of the rear wing problem and got too close... but bemember this one, and what the Macca lovers said then? http://www.forumula1.com/2008/f1/f1-new ... rubbished/

What I take from this GP is that what it looked like in Australia it's now confirmed... RedBull is not as reliable as seemed before the season, McLaren it's reeeealy close to them, and Ferrari and Renault have a very good performance in race.

Driver of the day: Kobayashi
Pain of the day: Petrov (that must hurt... my back!)
