I'm waiting for McLaren to build another magic duct in the car and name it "F*** you RB-duct"

They've already tried the F*** you RB-incirrina exhaust, Furbie for short, but they've had to ditch that for now.

As I said on the chat this morning, Horner can say what he likes, the Red Bull front wing visibly moves position under circumstances where other cars' wings are static. It doesn't take an eagle eye, the damn thing jitters about like it's hyped up on...

Well, you know.

Red Bull gives you (flexible) Wings.

Did I say you could use that word? :D

Let's just wait for qualies and see what happens... come on Jenson Button did admirably in P2, you should have nothing but hope for the McLaren manufacturing juggernaut to be able to figure out what a drink company figured out a year ago.

They're not drinks company, they're owned by one.

No one is calling McLaren a cellphone comany... I suppose being at the front attracts that kind of comment

What? McLaren is owned by McLaren....the cellphone company is their biggest sponsor.

Redbull IS owned by a drinks company!

Bah forgot the sarcastic smiley.

Point is it doesn't matter where the money is coming from all f1 teams are there to build cars and go fast and should be treated as such
#250017
yeah, I don't get the "just a drink company" line... even from the drivers and team leaders. ESPECIALLY from them. Clearly Red Bull is a motivated motorsport company what with their success in F1, rally, and even Air Racing.

I agree. Any company which can come in and make it happen in so few years deserve a lot of respect. Lewis' 'just a drinks company' was taken completely out of context by many.

Uh...Question...

That was my point, why did you make a sarcastic comment about it in reply to me?

So, Horner says it's all in the rake, which i'm sure we're all agreed is quite clearly bull...

Looking at qualifying; the rear of the Red Bull does seem higher than other cars and some of the interviews with team owners and technical people seem to suggest that the RB does have more rake and that teams will have to copy them if they wish to catch up. But also watching the qualifying I noticed that over the bumps the wing gets much closer to the ground which does throw a new light on the photos we've seen; they still could simply be taken when the car had just ridden over a bump.

but it doesn't explain the on-board lap video. You can CLEARLY see the wing flexing in high-speeds more than Lewis' car.

Ferrari have revealed they are working on a flexy front wing of their own. But I fear that will not solve all their woes.

First, the flexy front wing is not the sole cause for the RB7's pace. What many overlook is that aerodynamic law which states lift is directly proportional to drag. That extra downforce is not free and its accompanying drag is at its greatest where it is needed least: at the fast end of the high-speed straights. In fact, the only place it makes them faster is in the corners. On the straights, it makes them slower.

Second, the front wing is the point of origin for airflow management over the entire car. If the remainder of the car was not designed with the influence of a flexy front wing in mind, it might misdirect airflow so that it's out of proper position by the time it reaches the rear of the car. It could provide extra downforce at the fore but might bugger balance elsewhere. So I see additional "emergency" wind tunnel tests in Ferrari's future (as well as anyone else who looks to copy the RB7).

Third, they might be able to replicate what Newey has done with the front wing but it's highly unlikely they will get sussed what goes on from there back before season's end.

I also noticed the rearend of the RBR 'presenting itself' like a cat in heat yet as pics have shown the 'bow effect' of the front wing is just too significant to overlook. Something is very very fishy here, maybe it's a 'boxing match' hint hint wink wink

Maybe thats why vettel cant overtake? And crashes into cars at strange angles when he tries? D'you think?
