I am studying gaming at the mo and you have no idea what goes into it!

Yes, yes I do. I have an incredibly well-developed idea of what goes into, and indeed the business around it.

I just think the Wii & other low level graphic systems are poorly developed....

You'd be wrong.

True. But they are just not giving out the same performance as the Console version.

That's not really the point though. Games aren't just about raw graphics power. That's what Pixar Workstations are for.

they are to me, what's the point in paying £40 for a game when it's not superior to the last one?

Superior graphics are not a reason to buy a game on their own. Call of Duty World at War looks far better than the original, but the original is a far better to play in my opinion. Likewise, Final Fantasy XIII is great-looking, but give me VI any day of the week. I don't like playing games that have no depth, are dull and/or repetitive. There's simply no point. Having great graphics is a good thing, but not the most important. In some cases, I actually think better graphics would have a detrimental effect.

My sister, like a lot of youngsters, plays the Pokémon series of games. They're not very advanced in terms of graphics, with much of them still in 2D, and yet they have such great appeal. This clearly isn't down to how fantastic they look, but how great they are to play (obviously, in the opinion of those who enjoy them).

This is based on opinion not fact. People buy games for different reasons, I am hooked on F1 games but if it isn't as good nor betetr then why buy it? Because it has new teams or drivers? No. It's the experience, You dont pay £300 for a console just to expect PS2 graphics do you? So if you spend this amount of money on a superior console then you expect the graphics and experience. I expect in F1 2011 superior graphics, amazing feel and above all more customization.

In your own opinion you are not fussed. But I am! I want hardcore graphics, I want it to be 10x better than the last, some games the graphics are crap like Godfather II for Ps3, but I love that for the storyline. So I Understand where you are coming from!

codemasters sucks, they ruined F1 2010. No doubt 2011 will be just as bad.

That's about a year after 2010 came out. I don't know what they're thinking releasing these games in September. They ought to be aiming for summer release dates.

Agree, I want to play hardcore F1 in the summer!! Not in the winter, then again in the summer I will be @ BBQ's and drinking...Not stuck inside, Winter I will be tucked up in my media centre playing with a hot cup of coffee...

But then again I want F1 quicker!

So JB is right ;)

Well the thing is, releasing them in September the season is almost over before the game is even out.

Fifa Football and Madden Football both release before or towards the start of the Association Football and Nation Football League seasons. For a reason.
