Just as it says...

Does anyone else get paranoid when looking forward to something really exciting? Like, I feel I have to drive very, extra carefully this week JUST in case I happen to get into a fiery crash which will result in me dying and possibly missing the start of the F1 season. There is NO way I would go ski-ing this week, for example.

Or am I the only weirdo????

Heh, i don't get so paranoid about dying or whatever, but i can see your point... i watch races on the BBC site most of the time and am completely paranoid about the stream going slowly or the net being cut off... the anxiety about such things is worst just before a race start. Bahrain last year the stream started lagging during the first lap and i basically missed all the action in the race!

My laptop crashed at the start of Abu Dhabi! I almost went into meltdown.

Whenever its an f1 weekend I consciously make sure my diary is clear, plan in more detail than for most things - what time I'll get up, what I want to eat etc.

My family (God luv em) know not to plan ANYTHING during a GP weekend. I've had moments where relatives popped in, noticed me sitting watching a race and backtracked out of the room without a word. I actively avoid eye contact in these situations, hoping that if no eye contact is made, they will leave me alone and sidle out of the room.

It's worked so far!

ouch.

I considered watching the first race re-run at 1pm my time, before the inevitable happened and the thought was snuffed out by a sub-conscious slap to the face.

I will if I must watch a replay for other motorsports but for F1 I endure as a replay atleast to me is :bs::) !

Made an effort to myself to watch MotoGP, for the first time ever from the first session, turns out i got told wrong time for quali, missed the race subsequently........ given up on it. Cant watch things "non-live"

Be glad you're on that side of the "pond" then. We're force to watch 2 or 3 GPs per year non live, and we get the pre race and post race interviews chopped off of the broadcast just for good measure. You know, so this way there's more time for NASCAR coverage.

Flat's getting done up, was told most of the work would be done in 2-3 weeks so thought cool, might be just in time for Bahrain.............. It's still not done now and won't be for the weekend and TV's still packed away. No idea where I'm gonna be watching the race yet.

I check the F1 site every day so I hate when something comes up and I have to wait until Sunday night to watch the recorded race after work...I sit at a desk in front of a computer 8 hours a day so it takes all my willpower to NOT look at the race results because I like to find out the results as I watch the race. This is the ONLY reason why being the only person within 100 miles that watches F1 has any benefits; there's no one around to spoil it for me before I get to watch the race.
