The teams/drivers could always have a designated number yet the champioship team could still use the #1 and #2? It is not a bad idea as change is normally hard to accept for most but change is usually a good thing, just my opinion of course .

Agree and no I think it would just be number 1 goes to the champ like in moto gp, Lorenzo gets numero 1 but Pedrosa gets his usual 26, why would you want to know you came second
