Disgusting. Million of dollars to these racers and they want to complain about other people getting more MILLION than them? If you are making millions you can live well and your children and their children will live well long into the many years. So honestly at this point, I want to tell any driver who is upset about salaries to
STFU.

Because if it's about the racing, and the team is treating you right in terms of upgrades suck it up.

Of course, you need to pay for security and probably a secluded, and large as a bonus house, with gates. Cant just buy one down the high street. But still a drivers pay can be covered in the thousands, good old jenson took a huge pay cut to continue racing for Brawn. Lewis has said in his autobiography (he wrote it himself so its auto or not auto i dont know the difference) that he honestly doesnt even think about the pay, he says people ask him about it all the time and he says he treats his family and himself sometimes but otherwise his dad looks after the accounts (now his management firm)

I think an acceptable minimum salary for a formula 1 driver is 300k.

I do think they should have salary caps though, and give money in addition to places on the grid and give out big checks at the end.

I dont think this is a reflectuion of favouritism. Its market forces. Webber is in the twilight of his career. Vettel is world champion, with many years left in him and other teams interested in him. The teams pay what they need to pay to retain what they want to retain.

Didn't Mark get paid more than SV last season? and no it is not surprising that Vettel has gotten a pay raise, he is world champion after all but $10m isn't that much compared to someone like Alonso or even Massa who hasn't won any titles, for a world champion $10m is cheap, especially given the raw talent that SV has!

Agree, SV is a mega talent and you need to pay the right price to keep him!!!! Otherwise he would be head hunted by Scuderia.

To say the size of the RB empire $10Mill is nothing...they spend more on cleaners!

Well get yourself in that situation, where you're paying them and then a driver by the name of FRAFPEE comes along and is no better than you (in your opinion) yet he's getting paid a few million. Human nature is human nature, not saying that *you* would, but I am saying that would make you the exception and not the rule.

Whats this fuss about? I'd be bloody suprised if Webber is being paid equal to Vettel for 2011....he's not World Champion, and he's not being poached by pretty much half the grid out there. (the other half needn't bother)

Well get yourself in that situation, where you're paying them and then a driver by the name of FRAFPEE comes along and is no better than you (in your opinion) yet he's getting paid a few million. Human nature is human nature, not saying that *you* would, but I am saying that would make you the exception and not the rule.

I couldnt care care if they paid him in solid gold and gave me his s*it for wages. I really couldnt, as long as they give me enough to live (securely ie, so that i dont have nutters and super fans harassing my door) , i wouldnt make a squeak. not a squeak. Pay me what you like, spend the rest on this car of ours.
