Scotty did post an excel sheet of the total amount of overtakes every year since 1980 I believe a little while back; but I can't find it now; maybe Scotty can repost it or link to that thread!

Found it, original post here. No harm in reposting the chart in this thread though...

Something i didn't notice before is how low the numbers for '95 and '05 are.... and for me they're two of the best seasons of the last 25 years.

If the fia is going to go gimmick with formula 1 at least make it interesting.

No more qualifying. all grid spots are random each race. ok boys and girls you want to see overtaking and battling for points that's how ya do it. :hehe:

la sigh even bernie isn't good at being crazy. F1 fans pretty much do everything better than him

If it comes down that the sport needs artifical rain i would say that F1 is dead for good.

I wonder if there is a passing history among the top 10 drivers in each race. Not every over take gets on tv but the high profile drivers usually always get on tv.

Oh dear; just as well there isn't a forum rule against bad jokes

Interestingly I listened to a recent interview with Bernie Ecclestone on the BBC website; and Bernie thinks that the moveable rear wing is a stupid idea; then goes onto mention the idea of artificial wet races; he slams one stupid idea only to suggest and even more stupid idea; either he is going senile or he is very clever as it has brought a lot to attention to F1!

I don't need any reminding I remember that stupid idea very vividly! What next? guided missiles attached to the side of the car!

That'd actually be pretty cool if they can address the safety issue. Ever heard of the game "Road Wars"? Old old game but one of the most entertaining games I've ever played.
