now that Jean Todt ('affectionately' known as JT ) is going and will be replaced by Stefano Domenicali, so whts' the future for Ferrari now?.
As I see it JT s departure will be no loss to the sport, and I am not a Ferrari supporter in any way, so I dont care if the team does go backwards, but is it likely? I dont think that the teams performance will depend upon JTs departure but how good SD will be in his place. From the sports point of view SD will be an improvement I think.
Ferrari is either loved or hated, when (if) they cease to be winners they will lose many 'fans' who will transfer aliegence to another team (as is the case, probably, to a lesser extent , with any team) but they will still be left with the haters. I dont think that any other team has so many people who actively dislike the team. I was involved in the sport during the 60s & 70s and Ferrari were disliked by many in those days too. Why is that?

Isnt Jean Todt still president/CEO of the Ferrari company? he took that role start of this year with Montezelmolo being FIAT big boss

As I understand it JT is to remain as a senior exec. I think that there are large elbow marks on his ribs.

Todt I don't think was ever key to the running of Ferrari. Fair play to him, however, for allowing Schumacher to come and pick the team. Thus, I don't think his not being their will have an impact on Ferrari's competitiveness. What will be is Domenicali et al. and the reforms to their team.

Personally, I was never much of a Ferrari lover. Although I respect the passion of the team, I detest the way in which the tifosi think they have the monopoly on it and that it automatically makes them the greatest team ever. Their history of siding with the FIA also sickens me, from not long after the FISA-FOCA war and particularly in the current era of Formula One.

Todt had very little to do with Ferrari's success as we all know that it was Ross Brawn that was the brains behind the operation. He just took the plaudits.

If anything I think what Todt did the most at Ferrari was settle the team down and end the internal politics that were common in the early 1990's.

Despite the promotion of Stefano Domenicali to team boss, meanwhile, Jean Todt will still attend Grand Prix in 2008, Baldisserri said.

Let them leave as they are not true TIFOSI and we dont need them. I stick by Ferrari thru thick and thin and I have been witness to some VERY THIN year's.

I agree with that.
