Wow an Oscar for Nine inch nails...
i didnt know he did the soundtrack to the facebook movie... now i'll may even watch it.

I thought Christian bale won the oscar for Empire of the sun (he carried that film on his young shoulders... that was great). Definitely one of the best, if not the best actor. And i've been saying that waaay before Batman.

Natalie Portman is also awesome.

Bale doesn't shine in 'mainstream' Hollywood...in Batman he got outclassed by Ledger, and in Terminator, he got owned by the Markus character. His roles in mainstream (garbage) Hollywood is to be the tough good looking actor where his acting skills are just wasted.

What are you smoking? Anthony Hopkins is Welsh, thus, a Brit!

But I agree to your disagreement - there are some great actors that are not British. Hint: Robert De Niro (widely viewed as the greatest of his generation), Dustin Hoffman, Forest Whitacker, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, etc., etc. And that's just the male actors - there are many excellent American female actors as well...

Matt Damon is pretty young(ish), Natalie Portman is just 29 - there are others as well.

And how old are Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins, Peter O'Toole, Helen Mirren and all those old British farts again? I think they all helped erect Stonehenge if I'm not mistaken :P

I might have smoked through a few movies where Hopkins has a killer American accent. My mistake, learned something new today! :)

I must concur with Washington and Smith. Damon...I haven't seen him really being tested, Bourne sequels could've been played by anyone with a decent physique and a strong jaw. I'd add Brad Pitt to the list though, he gets a lot of flack because of the press idoling his looks but he has done some fantastic movies before he became "Face of the Universe" or whatever.
