Everyone has a F1 win which has touched them? I have one which stands out from them all.


Even though this is contradicting. I am a huge Ferrari fan and always have been but, The most memorable was not any of a Ferrari win but one of a Brit. That Brit being Jenson Button, After me and my Dad have seen every race and have always liked him and supported him but both supported different teams. Him McLaren And Me Ferrari when JB passed Alonso and got that first maiden F1 win we both jumped up and screamed, I have a permanent scar to show for it, as I jumped up, my dads bottle smashed and tore into my finger. A fine race and a fine win and one that is the best F1 victory for me, for the fact we have saw JB in the williams come so close to the podium but his car fail? So many times he has been 2nd? then the first win made me cry with joy. Great win...I still enjoy it to see JB win now...Even if it means a Ferrari coming second.

Mine's gotta be David Coulthard's in France 2000. He's always at his best at that circuit, and it was my dream race...my favourite racer on the grid teaching 2 Ferraris how to race!!! He overtook Rubens on track, and then next was Michael leading, David gives him the finger one lap prior to his overtake, and he speeds off to win the race. Icing on the cake being Michael being passed by Mika few laps later, and it's a fine McLaren 1-2. Classic race for me.

Another memorable one has to be Kimi at Suzuka, last lap on Fisico. I never believed he'd do that with 3 laps remaining but when I saw Fisico being overly defensive and making the job easier for Kimi...Kimi overtook at the same time I said to my mates "He could WIN this!!!"

Japan 1996, Damon Hill takes the title. I'll never forget watching that as a kid, early on a Sunday morning. I can still remember Murray's commentary word for word when Villeneuve went out, and also when Damon crossed the line.

That's my outright favourite. I have others too though...

Belgium '98 - Hill wins in Jordan's first victory
Hungary '06 - I used to be a big Button fan at this time, this was a great race and a welcome victory
Australia '97 - DC wins first time out for McLaren
Brazil '07 - Kimi deservedly takes the title against all the odds
Germany 2000 - Rubens takes his first win in the most epic style possible
Monaco '04 - Jarno Trulli ends Schumacher's monotonous run of wins
Canada '08 - Kubica wins a great first victory, making up for Hamilton needlessly taking out Raikkonen earlier on

I've only included races i can remember watching 'live' on this list btw...

Donnington 1993 Ayrton Senna.5th to 1st in one lap, enough said.Was a lap ahead in an inferior car.

Another good one was Mansell in hungary can't remember the year (1992?) but started 13th and won.

although Estoril 1985 was special for me.

What about you F1 fanatics?

Button's first win was the Hungarian GP of 2006 in the Honda. Is that the win you mean? He inherited the win by virtue of Alonso and Raikonnen retiring. He got close to the leaders by not pitting during the safety car which came after Kimi crashed out from the lead. Button then almost got past Alonso but then had to pit, putting him well back. Alonso then retired with a wheel nut problem related crash. I don't recall him passing Alonso.

Well, it's for "winning" 2nd place but this is still one of my all time favourite pieces of racing, from one of my fave drivers.
