At the risk of introducing a highly volatile post to our happy little home on the internet. I thought that some of these odds and match ups are interesting. And the special bets they've drawn up.

Jenson Button number of GP wins in 2011
Lewis Hamilton Number of GP wins in 2011
Michael Schumacher to win at least one race in 2011
Lewis Hamilton to have fastest lap, qualify fastest & win race at British GP
Michael Schumacher to retire during the season

My best tip is Webber for the WDC, i've seen odds as good as 14/1. Thought it was definitely worth a punt for a tenner.

Can you explain a bit those numbers?! I don't understand these betting systems... :D

Thanks! ;)

Say a driver has odds of 4/1 to win. For every pound/dollar/euro etc you bet, you win 4.

:nono:
4/1 bet 4$, earn the 4 you bet + the 1 you won
1/4 bet 1$,earn the 1 you bet + the 4 you won

Either you aren't in the uk and it's different where you are, or you're wrong...

you got that the wrong way round : 4/1 is bet £1 win £5 ,£4 +your £1 stake back.
1/4 is bet £4 to win £5 ,£4 your stake and £1 you win back. :hehe:

Hmmm... so large favourites are Vettel and Alonso. Considering Red Bull looks VERY strong i guess this will all depend on what happens with the times from now to Melbourne. [yay!! Melbourne.... sounds right  ]

I see something weird with the teammates odds........ Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton are MASSIVELY above their teammates.... somehow that doesn't seem right to me yet. I think Button will be closer and so will Massa. The one i think might cover is Vettel; but Webber proved me wrong last yr, so he could do it again this one.

I dont see anything odd...the only one odd is probably Vettel since Webber was pretty close to him last season. Though if you analyse further, Vettel was a lot more unlucky than Webber...Webber lost most of his points through being a dumbo.

If either Flipper beats Fonso or Jenny beats Lewie....the world really will end in 2012. No more F1. :crying:

isn't jenson known for taking care of his tyres and lewis is the one who gives them punishment? If so and these new Pirellis are degrading more than the bridgestones
wouldn't it be more in Jenson's favour and make it closer between those two guys even maybe jenson beating lewis at years end.

First of all, the myth that Jenson is great on his tyres never flies. Sorry. last year, Lewis was always faster AND his tyres were always lasting as long as Jensons, or maybe 1 or 2 laps shorter. Big deal. The only exception was in Australia when they called Lewis in to change tyres, and post race admitted it was a Mistake as they knew his tyres could've lasted till the end as well. If not, they'd be thanking their lucky stars he was called in but they weren't.

Jenson does have a smoother style when driving but that doesn't guarantee the tyres will last much longer to make a difference on race results. If Lewis wants to take care of tyres, all he has to do is drive as slowly as Jenson does and it shouldn't be a problem.

i was thinking of putting a tenner of lewis, if he can be totally consistent all year then why not? :hehe:

The car? Remember Lewis in 2009 wasn't exactly red hot because he was driving a freakin bathtub for the first half of the season.
