It's gotten a bit quieter about the appeal with which McLaren hopes to get the WDC for LH even though its date is set for this coming week (Nov. 15).

It looks to be a kinda non-event, a confirmation of what most pundits are thinking and have been saying. It's not gonna happen and LH will have to try again next year.

Lewis doesnt want it that way. Unlike some competitors it seems he would rather win it on the track. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the fuel transgression it would be unfair to take it from Kimi now anyway.( Be a different scenario if Ferrari were appealig tho eh! )

I'm sure it would RC. Personally, I quite like Raikkonen and think he deserves maybe not this title, but has certainly deserved at least one in the past. Also, it would be very wrong to take the title away from after him celebrating it and, besides, Hamilton doesn't want to win the title like that, and neither would I if I were a driver. It would cheapen it.

The McLaren appeal will be a non-event. I've drawn a line under things in 2007 - certainly not forgiven them though - and am looking forward to next year.

i think that:-

1/ BMW and Williams should be stripped of their constructors points but not their drivers thus no effect on the WDC.

2/ Kimi and Flip the monkey boy be stripped of their Brazil points for openly adopting an illegal team order system.

3/ The whole championship be declared void for 2007 - as only the lowest of low would want to win a title in the courtroom......say a WCC for instance.

lol asking the drivers in front and near the end of the race to hold station in a place where you cannot overtake safely is a lot different from saying before the last three races of the season that you will do anything you can to cheat your team mate into a WDC......and being allowed to do so by the FIA who put security guards in the competitors garage to ensure they dont do this.

keep trying though!

to HELP not to cheat - your choice of words again rather questionable.

DD, are you now in agreement that Ferrari cheated in Brazil?? I desperately wanted Kimi to win, but not like that. Shumi style wins ruin F1.

There was insufficient evidence then, so how would the evidence change?
Frankly I think Williams and BMW did not deliberately overcool their fuel. It was a very very hot day. Was it the hottest of the season? Maybe, but very very hot anyway. Maybe the machine was just doing the same job of cooling as it always does, but they forgot to set it to compensate for the hot day, or they didn't know the rule. Maybe the machines did no different from all the others in the pitlane, but randomness and variability meant that one or two aould actually creep past the limit, who knows? Initial tests may have found the sample more than the allowed 10(or whatever the # is) degrees cooler than ambient, but in further investigation they could not demonstrate this was the case. There were several definitions of "ambient" as well. In fact IIRC the official accepted source was less than 10(or whatever the allowed # is) degrees warmer than the fuel, therefor they didn't do it.
I forget exactly how it went but there were several factors and certain empirical data points that seemed to me to demonstrate their innocence.

even though it's unlikely i'm praying for his sake that lewis doesn't win his maiden title like this. he's got so much time ahead and i can't wait to see him crossing the line at interlagos to take his first World Title. Kimi deserves his crown, 6 wins to the McLarens 4 each

I took from what you said that you think the Monaco incident was cheating. Just like RB and MS.

Oh, sorry, I wasn't referring to Monaco. I was merely criticizing Ron's choice of words when he said 'will do anything you can to cheat your team mate into a WDC'.
