Fernando Alonso has said that he´s sure that Robert will completely recover, that he´s the best driver on the grid and that he´s sure he will win the WDC sooner o later. They are very close friends. I feel sorry for Robert, he’s one of my favorite drivers.

What he means is, he hopes Robert will Recover.

But thinks he (himself) is the best driver on the grid and he'll win his 3rd WDC soon.

So basicly he talks about Robert then reminds everyone that alonso is the best,

He's an ignorant spanish brat... Formula 1 could always use drivers like him...

Poor Alonso, even when he says something nice you don't get off him :(

I bet it's all envy from those eyebrows :hehe:

I agree with him, btw.

Now Kubica... Liuzzi?!?!?! Better make sure again your head is alright

It's common sense that he'd say he'd prefer Liuzzi as he's just protecting his own position. I like Liuzzi, I really do; he's unpredictable, talented, erratic and daring. That combination means that whilst you're guaranteed some decent results in the right car, you're also guaranteed a fair few crashes and incidents. I strongly suspect that Kubica is worried that if the car is right and Heidfeld gets the drive, that he could keep himself in contention for the WDC until fairly late in the season (again - IF the car is quick enough), making them less likely to immediately drop him if Kubica is fit with, say, 6 races remaining in the season.

If I was Kubica I'd be campaigning for Liuzzi too... :)

Hmm. Petrov is officially a pay driver, right? So he can't be dropped. Yeah, it makes sense in that way.

Yeah but the point is if the car is strong and Nick is actually going for glory....there's no way they will let the Kube come back this season, even if he's 100% fit!

You may be right and imho RK should use the entire year for recuperation and training for 2012.

i think its that like you guys have mentioned, robert considers his position under threat, because yes luzzi is a little erratic and daring, so hes never short of action, but why else would you go for him over heidfield

If Kubica does comeback imo Renault would be stupid to drop him, the guy has balls of steel and is very fast.

Does he still have two? Or would the singular be more appropriate? :hehe:

Love how we can make jokes about people who were about an inch away from ending their career and another few inches from ending their lives.

I seriously doubt Kubica will be back this season.

But, Liuzzi drives a little bit more similar to Kubica, so maybe he will have some advantage in the Renault if it was designed around Kubica... having Heidfeld developping the car for a whole yr will mean again start from scratch whenever he returns...... i think.

I think a bit of comic relief after the initial shock is on order - we're all glad that he's improving and all.

Heidfeld has been confirmed as Kubica's replacement. Hopefully he will have a good season, or part-season at least. A wise choice from Renault and good to see Nick in a car again, although the circumstances are not those any of us would really have liked, I'm sure.
