Troisième temps de la troisième journée d'essais de pré-saison à Jerez mais toujours meilleur temps de la semaine, Michael Schumacher a affirmé qu'il n'était pas surpris par les chronos de Nick Heidfeld, le plus rapide, samedi en Espagne.

Pour sa prise de contact avec la Renault R31, l'Allemand a impressionné avec des runs réguliers et un temps qui marque les esprits. "Nick a fait de bonnes performances sur la fin de la saison dernière", a jugé Schumacher. "Ce qu'il a fait ici n'est pas une surprise."

Pour le septuple champion du monde, la performance de la Renault ne doit pas être sous-estimée. "Il était certainement en pneus tendres mais la voiture est rapide, nous l'avons vu à Valence (avec le meilleur temps de Robert Kubica)."

Im sorry, i said my intial piece on this Heidfeld saga episode VII, but now im a little agitated,

What is this sorry state of F1? Heidfeld has had a drive from 2000-2009 hasnt he? Then half of 2010, and probably most of 2011, what the actual hell are you complaining about? Whilst some drivers like Hulkenburg, whilst not setting the F1 world alight, dominated all other series he competed in and showed good promise towards the end of the season, have only amassed a year of racing before being sidelined to give everyone a go.

He smoked Petrov today? Are you nuts? This is testing, Jerome d'ambrosio finishing top after a day shouldnt even raise an eyebrow.

Seriously though, can you not just support Heidfeld like he deserves to be without totally dissing Senna, Petrov, F1, Lotus and so on and so forth? Starting to sound quite fanboyish.

I think heidfeld is the best bet for renault with the experience he can bring and his undoubted speed. But I wouldnt read too much into his pace over Petrov, Petrov is confirmed and would no doubt be on a testing programme. Heidfeld is after a drive.

Heidfeld isn't competing against Petrov. But whatever the case, first time in the car and he's come out with a respectable time. No matter what, it's a job well done I wonder if Bruno can even come close to this time with a lighter car.
