i prefer a bit of prost onboard meself, calculating smoothness, that said i bet anyone 5 pounds they couldnt tell the difference between prost/senna onboard, cause i cant.

A good point of comparison:

You can see Prost uses much less steering input, and if you listen to Senna's engine you can hear him blipping the throttle around some corners, whereas Prost doesn't seem to do that.

I agree though that it's hard to compare drivers, if you put them in identical cars, overalls etc, people could only be making educated guesses at best.

If you were to compare them mega closely you could probably find differences in lines and braking points, but i don't have the ability to spot that stuff straight away!

mhhhmm, some of the comments on the cideos are so ill-informed
and fanboyish
though, like the look at how senna takes monaco one hand, to which all drivers HAD to, as they all had manual gears etc, just gets a bitnannoying sometimes, maybe cause im not his biggest fan :D prost is my favourite ever!

Yeah, one guy said 'visibly slower than senna's lap though' - tool.

Ooh, found this that shows nicely what i was saying about steering input:

Looks funny when they change gears at the same time, i dunno why :D

It also shows a little of what i was saying about more subtle driving style differences too. See the way they use gears to downshift at the end of the lap - Prost makes one gearshift and that's it. Senna goes down the gears to get major engine braking on the go, and you can see him having to control the back end when it starts bucking around like a motherf***** because of that - that is some seriously impressive driving skill. Doesn't really do the engine much good in the long run though. You can hear the exact difference on the other vids i posted before.

The Senna videos are unsurprisingly overdone.

Prost vs Senna video is good though.

Both great drivers and no-one will ever resolve definitively who was best, but, for me Prost has the edge, having ended 5 years as the leading points scorer versus Senna's two. But Senna had a lot more in him, and, sadly we will never know what he could have achieved.

you know even in his
home country brazil they call people that wont allow anything other then godlike worship of senna "widows"

dont be a widow, the videos are always
overdone with senna.

how can you say seeing onboard videos of one of the greatest drivers of all time as being over done. If you're a lover of the sport then you'll love seeing those on boards. Simple.

Seems to me it's the other way around, the good old tall poppy syndrome.

Probably seen more of Senna on board than you and most folk on this forum. I'm probably not far from seeing every F1 race he was ever in with the amount of old full F1 races I have on vhs from the 80's and 90's.

Most who make noise about Senna on board footage would have never watched other drivers from the era on board or even whole races from that era.

Hell I would say 90% on this forum who would claim Senna was the greatest ever haven't even seen 5 full races that Senna won.
