Korean food, what like dog?

Image

If so what does it taste like? I always imagine it to be a bit stringy.

SPOTTED! Michael Schumacher. :D

Just back from a business trip in Qatar, I was staying at the Millennium Doha and there's a lake close by. Took a walk, and who do I see, but Michael Schumacher with another guy (fitness trainer?) jogging spiritedly around. I KNEW its Michael, because he had on those 'Michael-esque sunglasses, a very fit physique, and a freakin Mercedes cap!

Doha of all places though...I did want to say hi but I had more sense than starting to run up to him myself and asking for a sig.

Good thing you didn't...he would have made you keep up until you started huffing and puffing and completely embarrased yourself. :D At least you maintain your dignity!

I have no dignity and would now have an autograph :D ! Well actually I would have stalked him and waited till after the jog, possibly over a cool down beverage.

Great spot  !

Nice spot, Hammer278! Schumi jogging around Doha....always great to spot someone out of context or when you least expect it.

Exactly. :D

Plus he seemed to have his privacy there, no one cared two hoots about him! I guess a 'vacation' for these guys is heading to those parts of the world where their name hasn't burned through the minds of the public, as yet.

Out of the three I'm more interested in spotting Jenson, so I'm still happy... :)

...And before you ask, no, I didn't say hello. I think famous people have a right not to be hassled when they're not 'on duty'. Plus I'm not actually a stalker. Nice to see him, though! :D

I'm much the same. Autographs? What could I possibly want with an example of his handwriting? Am I going to forge checques under his name?

I used to come into contact with celebrities quite often at work. I decided they'd appreciate a bit of privacy but I also didn't want them to feel unrecognised so I simply would smile and nod or, if within earshot, greet and call them by name (when I could remember it).

I did have a lengthy conversation with Robin Williams once in the train station in Nantes after a stage in the Tour de France. We both were waiting for the TGV back to Paris. All we spoke of was Lance and the race. Seemed quite a nice chap, but very short and very hirsute.

I was going to post a cheesy joke about his hairiness... but you stole my thunder I had my suspicion so I looked up the meaning of the word hirsute.

So I learned a new word today.

I wouldn't be afraid to confront him. He's a friendly guy from all the interviews i've seen and when he was on top gear :) Give him a good hand shake and a congrats would not be an intrusion to me :)

I met Damon Hill and Martain Brundle at the Arrows factory in 1997, it was a mega hot day and I said hello and wished them both well for the future.

I also met Nigel Mansell, Jackie Stewart and Nikki Lauda at Silverstone 1997. Seen my favourite driver (Ayrton Senna) of all time in the flesh in 1992
Murray Walker during his book signing at WHSmiths in Manchester, we were last in the queue, I had my official Ferrari team shirt on and we spoke about F1 for 5 minutes and had a picture taken. Murray is a true gent and F1 isn't the same without him commentating.
