Jenson Button in the flesh, coming out of the mens in the interval of Cirque de Soleil in the Royal Albert Hall. Feel a little starstruck now... *Swoon*

And before you ask, no, I didn't say hello. I think famous people have a right not to be hassled when they're not 'on duty'. Plus I'm not actually a stalker. Nice to see him, though! :D

Cool

I wonder how many F1 drivers anyone would actually recognise in the flesh.

OH yeah... coincidence... riiiight. You've been planning this for months!

Anyway, good spotting for you, and I don't think there's anything wrong with a friendly acknowledgment just to let them know... but reserved acknowledgment. May I suggest a simple... Hey Jens. and leave it at that. This way, if he responds with a Hey, then you can always say you've had a conversation with him!

That's what happened to me, when I spotted Elvis, in 1998.

That makes 2 of us, I spotted him on the street the Monday after the 08 GP. He walked past my friend and I wearing McLaren stuff and he said "hey boys" :hehe:

There was a girl I worked with approx 10 years ago who went down to the South of France with her boyfriend and decided to check out Jimmy'z in Monaco.(a mega-exclusive nightspot) It wasn't race week and in any case she had no interest in F1 or Motorsport. Unknown to her she is sitting next to a young Jenson Button and asks "so, what do you do?" to which he replies "I drive for Renault" (remember that this is in a nightclub) to which Claire gave the classic reply "Ooh, I drive a Renault too!"
Apparently, he was his charming self and picked up the drinks tab.....

What was the cirque like ? Seen two of their shows in Vegas and they were superb.Simply amazing act.Didn't know what it would be like in the albert hall,i know you're never more than about 90 feet from anything in there, but in Vegas all the arenas are purpose made.

I was walking through Oxford a few years ago and a camera crew where filming this little Mediterranean bloke with dark haired and bushy eyebrows looking I just looked and though it was just some random student type of film, that happens a lot in Oxford. It was not until a few weeks later that ITV F1 did a "life as Fernando Alonso" with him walking through Oxford that I suddenly realised who it was.

I also met a bloke in the Ken Tyrrell Cafe at Snetterton, who invited me to sit at his table because there was no other seats free, after 5 minutes of conversation it came to so why are you here sort of questions, I said I was just a race fan, he said he was here with his son who was a driver. I asked who he was driving for he said the Stewart team (F3) it was not for another 5 minutes that I realised that the 2 drivers for Stewart at that race where Takumo Sato and Tomas Scheckter. The bloke next to me was not Japanese. I nearly fell of my chair. He was a nice bloke though and showed me around the team pits etc.
