I wish I had a rich daddy to buy me a £50m house; although my choice of house would be cheaper as I would not buy property in London, too expensive and never had an urge to live there! A decent sized country house in my native south west of England would do me...

Maybe Bernie smell's the tax man on his heals?

I doubt it, he's probably got like a dozen people working tax avoidance for him.

I think a prank call would be appropriate about now too Bernie "Oh steward we need more wash towel's pronto" and then I would let his daughter chime in "Oh daddy he's just being saucy but could you hurry??" :D

Petra splashed out £56 million on the grade II-listed, eight-bedroom Sloane House in Chelsea, while Tamara snapped up a £45 million house in Kensignton Palace Gardens.

They're not stupid when it comes to money. They are very level-headed and that's something I and their mother insisted on. At Christmas we bought them things we thought they needed and would use.

Some people live in a different world

Years ago in a different life, I installed the first car phone for David Letterman. It was a treat not only because I got to see him a few times, but because I was a big fan while I was in college. Back in the days the phones were massively expensive and it was very common for people to remove the phone from one car and re-install it into their new car. During one of these exchanges, I went to see the car in a NYC garage with his right hand woman. And after we went over the installation of how he wanted to phone installed in this the new car, we went to talk to the garage attendant so he'd facilitate moving the vehicles around so I could work...

Well she handed Pedro (the garage attendant) 20 bucks... and said to him, "Pedro, "he" mentioned on his way in this morning that his windshield washer fluid was low and he was having a hard time. Can you take care of it?"

So he didn't tell her to do it, he didn't explicitly imply for her to do it... she just anticipated that aspect of his life for him. And that's what being massively rich does for you... you're able to not have to think about the little details of life, and pass those responsibilities over to someone that will make your little details, their entire existence!

BTW for anyone curious, David Letterman's company cars were a Pontiac Fiero and a Mitsubishi 3000GT.

I agree with you, the reason houses in london are bought are purely for prestige and how close you are to oxford/regent street etc, has anyone been London recently, on the corner of i think those two streets there are tiny (albeit amazing) apartments going at 20 million each(my pa's word fo the moment). Purely on their positioning in London.
That said there are some beautiful, and i mean beautiful homes in London... Mayfair,Chelsea and Kensington, oh. my god.

I thought the saying was : a heaven europe is english homes, french women, italian cooking, german organisation etc. something like that, but it always had English homes there.

As the saying goes "location, location, location" but for me; London isn't a place I want to live so it's not the location for me!
