there is nothing hotter then a girl with a british accent.

When an American says a British accent, he's likely talking about the accent you'd hear a female voice doing a British Airways commercial, not Cockney being spoken by a prostitute in a Jack the Ripper documentary on the history channel.

so for sexy, I'd go with French or Italian and there's nothing anti-British about that.

Where would this world be with out cricket, hot tea, and Top Gear?

I've only experienced two out of three.

British accent? I'm thinking Anthony Hopkins, Michael Caine or

I had you pegged for the Daniel Craig Bond.

The British, summarised:

"Brothers and sisters are natural enemies. Like Englishmen and Scots! Or Welshmen and Scots! Or Japanese and Scots! Or Scots and other Scots! Damn Scots! They ruined Scotland!"
-Groundskeeper Willie, the world's foremost authority on what's wrong with each nationality - for instance, the French are, indeed, a bunch of cheese-munching surrender-monkeys.

Consider the various UK Nationalities in question interchangeable between eachother.

Technically you should say English accent, British refers to the entire island and the 3 countries of the island. Then you could throw in Northern Ireland as being British so you have alot of different accents on the island. And for Cricket? well it is a lot better than Baseball :D Especially in T20 format.

Personally I find Scottish, Irish and Yorkshire accents sexier than plain english ones. But that's probably because I'm english...

DD - you should add Dougray Scott to your list - yum!

Hahaha!! Let's not get involved in the 'Is Northern Ireland 'British'' debate, as that can rumble on forEVER!! There is no completely correct answer to that question, but many different stances all of which have merit. :D Suffice to say, if Northern Ireland can be classed as British (as opposed to being a part of the United Kingdom which it of course is), so too can ALL of the members of the British Commonwealth - including Australia, Ghana (that well known Ghanaian/British accent!! :P ), Malaysia etc.

As for English accents (that are totally different to each other), just off the top of my head - Manc, Scouse, Brummy, Geordie, Cockney, Yorkshire etc.

If you thrown in some Scottish accents including Glaswegian, variations of east coast, Doric, Highland etc.

Then throw Welsh into the mix...

That's into double figures without even really thinking about it for more than 30 seconds...

If anyone wants a good example of this idea of massive regional variation, which emphasises the point - you should look at this episode of top gear when Patrick Kielty was the star in a reasonably priced car at circa 1min:

Just saying 'British' accent is no different than trying to band together say Brooklyn & Deep South and calling it in all cases an 'American' accent... which some people of course do... which is ludicrous! :)

Haha!! Mike Myers Scottish accent is like a hybrid somewhere between Glaswegian and Highland - typical generic Scottish accent a la Groundskeeper Willie! :D

While I see your point, because baseball is monumentally boring, that doesn't make Cricket any good - it's pretty GD boring too outside of Twenty20. If all cricket was Twenty20, it'd be an easy distinction, but most cricket is equally as boring as baseball, which is itself a boring version of Rounders.

I'm Scottish and I agree. I'd also add Welsh and Coventry accents to the list.

*swoon*

My British accent used to be broad Northern English when I was little. After living here, there and everywhere though, it's now generic British with a few strange inflections thrown in. My friends at work think I sound posh, but its just because I've lost the Northen lilt...i.e. I don't say draw out my vowels... "Noooooo." :D

You should hear the geordie accent. My niece and nephew have it, tis a corker!

That's Ricky Gervais, the English version of Steve Carella (the office). The Prime Minister isn't about to guest star on Letterman, you idiot :D (unless you were joking???).

:rofl::rofl:

An American once asked me if we celebrated the fourth of July in England.

Yeah, not so much :wavey:

...Of course he was joking. Also, I wouldn't describe Gervais as the British Carrell just because they played the same role on The Office.
