Now I'm OFFICIALLY finished with this tirade against our Constitutional rights being hashed by those who are not American, you have NO IDEA what it is like to be an American and the pride we have, oh thats right we are the rednecks of modern society  !!

From here on out I'll just read and laugh :) .

F1 is an European sport so I no longer want to hear about you Americans chiming in! Your opinions mean nothing because you don't live in europe!

There's this thing called globalisation, Texmix. We're not ripping your culture to shreads, just having a grown-up discussion about certain things. Instead of coming into this all gung-ho, guns blazing (pardon the pun), you should have stated why you think the right to bear arms is legislated. We're all grown-ups here, so there is really no need to get angry about anything, also...this is just the internet. Chill :)

thank you, this is evreryones view, if you could see how ignorant and downroght egotistical youve madenyourself sound in this thread youd be ashamed trust me, your last post that you labelled "officially yoir last" was appalling
tonbe honest.

America needs to keep it's nose out of other countries business, how many times do we see Muslim cultures attacked by Americans, all Muslims are suicide bombers, right?

Strictly regarding this 'firearm' topic maybe the same could be said that other countries need to keep their noses out of our business and quit telling us what we need to change in our Constitution  ?

If you can't take it; don't dish it out... :P
I'll say this; the last major culture to disappear because they refused to change and adapt was the Roman Empire; that means the USA has approx 250 years left! :yikes:

By-the-way, when I make my comments; they are not blind comments; I have lived in the US for 2 1/2 years now, I haven't based my opinion on European media!

The officer in my high school had never had to draw his gun,he was a very good man as well! Officers in the US are professionals and thats what matters, like every aspect in life there are the bad ones!
As for crooked/trigger happy I blame Hollywood!

I blame the people who are allowed into law enforcement, alot do not get into it for the right reason only the "I carry a gun MOFO and what I say goes, don't make me draw down on you"! It's apparent I'm the only police officer on this forum which is 99% non-US so I can only speak for myself, I'm not like that and I have people who can backup my claims.

Really in all reality we need LE officers even if they do not carry a firearm because many cultures are different. So I do not think we here should be arguering about things we cannot change we should be hoping/looking for a solution where firearm's are not needed yet I doubt society will allow that.

I think the United States constitution is just fine. The problem is the political environment where the overwhelming majority of old white guys are slowly realizing their days are numbered. We've got a Muslim congressman, we've got openly gay congressmen, and we've got openly atheist congressmen. In time our leaders will better represent it's people because the one's we've got now are only representing the corporations lining their reelection coffers.

It's a joke that we've got the Joe Barton the congressman that apologized to BP for the way we treated them... is now serving as the head of the House Energy Committee. Only in America.

I believe that you should realize that we live under the American Empire since WW2. I like very much good intentioned people, but good intentions aren’t equal to good results. When people scandalize because US make wars because of the oil control, I can’t understand them. Could you imagine the consequences of an oil supply cut for the entire world?
If any of you were the President of the United States would allow people like Saddam Hussein and Iran or Afghanistan fundamentalists to take control of oil supply? They have the responsibility to maintain it open. Other thing is how they have done it, lying, manipulating and damaging much more people than necessary, but keeping control on oil supply is absolutely necessary for the Occidental World. Arabs could put the US on their knees if they cut the oil supply.
When you’re saying the US to put their noses out of other countries business, are you including their Military Bases in England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey,…………….and all around the world?
This time will be historically known as the US Empire. You can like it or not, but these are facts. And the US Administration acts in consequence and keeps the world under control.
About guns I have to say the same. Can you calculate how many firearms would keep out of control in the streets after an eventual Anti-Firearms Law Enforcement? How many millions of them I say. Good intentions are very nice, but they are not equal to good results. There is another culture right there and many people won’t give their guns voluntarily. Apart from those now out of control. Then everybody with a gun will be a criminal, what implies criminalizing the whole society.
Have you seen what happens at any important town in the US when sudden electricity cuts supply take place? Have you seen a lot of people looting immediately all the shops around? Can you imagine that happening at your countries? They have a different way of life, a different relationship with violence.
Do you know what happened with the alcohol prohibition? It could be the same, but worse. People should think about the consequences before supporting things blithely.
That’s my opinion and I haven’t had a gun in my hand in my life (Apart from the Army). I don’t like them, don’t need them.

Why not; Rome thought they were invincible and that arrogance ultimately cost them their empire.

Jack, so you are saying that it's OK to go to war over control of oil? The oil resides on Iraqi and Iranian land; what gives America or any other country the right to invade other countries because they have oil reserves; those countries have the right to sell or refuse sale to anyone or any nation, but that reckoning, the US is a law until itself!

Tex, I never said that I was an expert; I have no idea where you got that idea from, I certainly didn't write or imply that, but 2 1/2 years is plenty of time to form an informed opinion, I've spoken to actual AMERICANS about all things American, (remember I am married to an American) often in comparison to the UK; I'm not particularly proud of my own country for their part in the Iraq war against UN will! I have had Americans attack the UK health system without knowing anything about it, they've based their opinion based upon US news media which aren't even factual 90% of the time, at least I can say I have experienced life here in the US and formed a first hand opinion!

Oil itself is useless, it needs to be refined, processed. It's also not as simple as an Arab country not selling oil to the US... it doesn't work that way, oil is a commodity and is sold on the open market to the highest bidder, there are various qualities/grades sold at different prices, and one country putting less oil in would only encourage another country to put more, since the prices would vary according to supply and demand. The oil supply is a very difficult thing to fully control, I wish we weren't having this conversation as the best way to diffuse that power is to get off of oil as our power heroin. We use oil because of the profit the American oil companies make off of it, period end of story.

This is getting a bit OT now because I keep trying to get back to the core issue of this thread, this is a political assassination attempt fed into by a vitriolic rhetoric that is steadily fed to the American public by entertainers and has now been echoed by some politicians.

You can compare power wise maybe but culture wise... You can't compare to that of Rome, who's culture still lives on in many ways in the western world today.

Well, this is becoming more and more debatable - it's sometimes disgusting how countries have become Americanized these days :banghead:
