Most of South-East Queensland is covered is water atm.It's been going on for weeks but in the last few days it has got REALLY bad. The Brisbane river has peaked and the state's capital, Brisbane is being flooded, including the CBD. Toowoomba has been hit by what is being called an "inland tsunami". It is chaos! There have been a number of deaths and it is expected there will be a lot more I hope all the people in the flood effected areas are safe and remain safe! Because the worst hasn't even hit yet! It's going to get worse before it gets better!

9 dead, 59 missing. Now the Queensland capital Brisbane is under threat it's terrible!

It's raining so bloody much.....even here in Singapore (we are getting the top edge of the system affecting Queensland) it hasn't stopped for 3 days!

10 dead, graves fears for 18 more. Death almost certain to rise. 70+ people are unaccount for!

Power to be cut in parts of Brisbane/Ipswich. A 100,000 homes/businesses are expected to be effected by it. Brisbane CBD likely to be effected

ive seen on the bbc news that another 2 metres is heading for brisbane in 24 hours, its not looking good, plus the river waters too

Today was the first day that I really became aware of this, I heard on NPR that an area the sized of Germany and France combined is under water! What's remarkable is that there's been drought in that area for the past few years...

I hope the people there are able to cope through this situation and have some normalcy to their lives sooner rather than later. It's going to be a long long time cleaning up.

I read that they usually have some flooding during monsoon season, but the recent disastrous floods are caused by heavy rains that occurred during the Spring/Summer months. I wonder if they had any heads up that this might happen?

Horrible, either ways. I can't even imagine how awful it must feel to lose everything you own
