Dude I had one of those Evel Knievel toys :cloud9::thumbup: !!!!!!!

Whats Burning is a very appropriate name for you after reading your story, I'm humbled by it.

I've been trying to sell the movie rights and have George Clooney play me. I was close to a deal however, the people I've been dealing with decided to buy a script called Precious and hire some unknown called Gabourey Sidibe.

Wasn't Richard in the running as well?

Mmmm Hmmmm. You would have liked that wouldn't you.

Are his armpits shaved?

I had long blonde hair until I was ten. but then chopped it all off, ten was also the year that I adopted my monkey, so I always had Mischief the monkey riding on my shoulder. I also became obsessed with science and astronomy at that age. F1 was always there.

So, to sum it all up...I was some boy hybrid with a monkey on my shoulder, looking at the skies with my binocs and the only kid in the neighbourhood who knew what F1 was.

FREAK

What were you up to?? :D

Ah, an androgynous science geek with a monkey on the back! Did you get the monkey off your back by now? The rest is fine by me :hehe::twisted:

I had an Evil Kanivel as well, I remember trying to jump if out of my bedroom window onto the conservatory and then onto the floor. That got me into trouble! It took mum ages to get the glass out of the potpourri.

I was doing quite well on the RC Car racing circuit at the age of 10.

Ha....great question. I remember the day so well.

I watched the first ever Space Shuttle, Columbia, lift off on my 10th birthday......and yes.....I was there at Cape Canaveral.

That's a memorable birthday present. It must have been very emotional for you to see the Columbia and her crew end during that fateful re-entry.

At 10 years old I was trying to find ways to avoid being bullied and thus avoid school entirely. Amidst that was various levels of playing my Sega Master system (this is 1990 afterall) mixed in with riding my bike in the woods near where I lived at the time. F1 didn't enter my life for another 4 years.

Actually lost interest in space ships pretty soon after..........but frankly, a shuttle lauch is an impressive thing. TV just doesn't do it any justice

I am 24 and still find them amazing.

I am envious that you got to see a launch, it is one of my goals

You should join the sega8bit forum! :)

My birthday being Christmas day, and my 10th being 1990 also, mine would be very similar in terms of the video games I'd have got!

I do remember that Christmas day very well as my brother and I both got skateboards, and kept getting told off for trying to use them in the house. :) My Gran (d.1994) was over at my parents house along with my uncle Sam (d.2004), nice memories! We watched ET that evening, first time I'd seen it I think. Wish I hadn't as a couple of years ago when I went to Florida I had the misfortune to go on the ride... worst ride ever...
