Hi,

I am trying to design a quick change front body section system for my track car and would like to emulate the kind of fuss free, high spec system used on F1 cars.
Does anyone know (or have any pictures) of how they acieve an [obviously] very secure attachment, with a fast reliable removable latching method.

Any help appreciated.

(First post - be gentle with me :) )

Lots and lots of engineering dollars and probably something not too dissimilar to the way you remove a quick release tire from a bicycle. When you look at it in a race environment, they have a pin/rail system for alignment and then a tightening mechanism to hold it all in place.

Probably other members on the forum can post it, but I've read a blog... which I don't have bookmarked that's the most technically in depth explanation of how F1 things work... last thing I read there was about the F-Duct.

OH, btw, welcome.

Thanks guys - pretty sure now that I need a latching system referred to as a 'quarter turn'

They come in all sorts of sizes/torques and flavours (push-turn,slam latch, 1/4 turn, push button) and I have already ordered some from these guys at anemo.eu (http://www.anemo.eu/downloads.php)

Cool stuff indeed.

Hope other people may find the info useful. :D
