Regardless, he seems a better driver than Luzzi to me, and is Force India's third driver, isn't this what third drivers are for? I don't think they team will need to pay him more than Luzzi to get him.

Karun Chandhok has been seen in Valencia clad in Team Lotus apparel, although the 1Malaysia team has confirmed to GPUpdate.net that the Indian is present as a team guest as opposed to official third driver. The squad makes its debut on-track today, after not running on Tuesday and electing for a private test on Friday.

However, rumours have begun to circulate in the Valencia paddock that he has signed a deal with the team for 2011, although this is currently not the case.

“No - he's not,” a Team Lotus spokesperson explained to GPUpdate.net when asked if Chandhok is now the official reserve driver. “He's a guest today and we'll see what happens. Nothing official.”

Good for him if it happens. I can't believe with an Indian GP in the calendar they wouldn't want to maximize their exposure.
