Oh yeah, guess this means Jenson will retire? remember what he said? :hehe:

Will be be that badly missed?

I can think of other drivers I think would be more interesting in the McLaren.
Pah! Its a rubbish move, by a mealy mouthed, half arsed FIA. Like the other rule changes.Ooh you cant go off the track, ooh you cant move direction, Ooh you musnt touch another car, ooh you cant overtake. Well they'll get what they want, a procession where the only overtaking is when a driver is ordered aside by his team for the favoured one to get through. Great I cant wait

Abolishing the rule won't make a difference in effect though will it? Teams have implemented team orders when the ban was in place.

That'll teach him to wax hyperbolic. :nono:

Did Jenson actually say "if team orders were allowed in F1 he'd leave" or "if he was part of a team that used team orders he'd leave"?

There's a distinct difference between the two statements; just because it's allowed doesn't mean it has to be used!

I thought he said he'd leave if team orders were allowed again, but I could be wrong. Somebody please post link to his statement...

If he did say that, it was a very silly statement to make given the likelihood of it happening after Germany 2010!

The 30-year-old was then asked if the implementation of team orders would force him into retirement. "It would definitely shorten my career," he replied.

So it is somewhat ambiguous and could be construed as meaning implementation of team orders at McLaren. Though earlier he stated that he "wouldn't be very happy at all. I'd be very disappointed" if team orders were legal and allowed again.
