Before you accuse me of being "anti-British" I'll let you know that I have exactly the same passport as you (OK...I also am lucky to have another passport from my place of birth!).
The anti-British sentiment stems fundamentally from the ex-colonies.....in Australia and Singapore where I live today the Brits come here and all they want to do is watch Premier League, drink Bitter and instruct everyone about the "properness" of the Queens english as well as portray themselves as somewhat "superior" to the people of Asia in particular. It just doesn't wash any more I'm sorry....we' are all pretty sick of it.
As for your comments about "the little British Island that managed to stave off the Nazi's in WW2".... frankly, it's exactly that attitude that get's the Brits the reputation they have today. When it comes to specifically the issue of WW2, many Englishmen conveniently forget the extent to which the armies of the Commonwealth as well as the HUGE committment from the Americans was the telling factor in the result that occurred.
The sooner that Brits around this part of the world act with a little more humility and decency towards other cultures rather than arrive like a bunch of "lads on a pissed night out" the better.
Like I said....I'm technically one of you.....but the way in which some Brits carry on down here at least is far from impressive.
Youve completely skipped over anything you could class as a positive, youve also merged two seperate posts as one, and as i was tyhe OP youve made it a reply to mine. I dont even know where to start with your post, ive already said russia saved our bottom, america too, but russia saved everyones bottom in that war, ive seen nobody say anything about what you said bar one that said hey this little island defended from the nazi war machine, which is true. Forgive me for saying cause i have no prejudice, but people tend to think every briton is the working class that seem to give us a bad impression with the drunkenness, premier elague etc stuff. Youd do well to realise the middle/upper class far outweigh in Britain. Not that working class people are some sort of disease, its just they do tend to give off the worst impressions.
Stop thinking we are all like that, or else you fall right into the ignorant category in which you speak against. Any educated reason minded Briton knows and will happily accept that poles, anzacs (yourselfs), muslims, americans, russians and so many more were all fighting for our survival, and without an eastern front and american arms, we more then likely, not definitely, but more then likely would of fallen to the germans.
Thats not even the point really, its that youve clearly got the wrong idea of us, i dont think your a Hater either, its easy to assume such when it seems everyone is like that. That said, apart from some things like our olympic team, musical history, inventions and theories, flag

, and generally our PAST achievements, im not proud to be British at all today, i hardly like more then my immediate family and a few friends, cause people are just horrible in one way or another, but thats the case in EVERY western country, so its not an excuse to hate us specifically.
