LDM has predicted that Vettel will drive for Ferrari. It is also reported that he tried to head-hunt Adrian Newey!

I'm a huge Massa fan, but, I got to admit that the prospect of a Fernando/Sebastian team is pretty attractive.

Also, the bit about trying to nick Newey, well, it's good to see Ferrari going all out to get on top - as a fan you can't ask any more of your team than for them to do their best.

Montezemolo predicts future Ferrari Formula 1 drive for Sebastian Vettel
Thursday, 23 December 2010 07:50

Luca di Montezemolo is predicting a future Ferrari drive for the new reigning Formula One World Champion.

Earlier in 2010, en route to becoming the sport's youngest ever champion with Red Bull, 23 year old Sebastian Vettel described Ferrari as "special", adding: "Why not go there in a few years?"

The German is under contract with Red Bull for 2011, with an option to extend into 2012.

Cologne tabloid Express reports that Ferrari Chairman di Montezemolo sees Vettel as a natural successor for the struggling Felipe Massa.

"Sebastian is fast, intelligent and young," said the 63 year old Italian. "He will drive a red car sooner or later."

The team owner of Vettel's current team, Dietrich Mateschitz, said a month ago: "Seb wants to drive for Ferrari some day. We will make it as difficult a decision for him as possible."

Express also reports that di Montezemolo recently made an offer to entice Red Bull designer Adrian Newey to Ferrari. Newey reportedly turned the offer down.

Championships have been following Newey and Brawn around wherever they go since they've been in the sport. Newey is always gonna be courted by everyone with the deep pockets.

I would rather see Kubica take that second seat at Ferrari in 2012.

Although Massa has a two year contract so it might be 2013 before he leaves Ferrari. Plenty of time to bounce back.

Kubica and Alonso though, they are my ideal driver line up. Both fast, aggressive and Kubica unlike Vettel can actually overtake.

The move Kubica pulled on Kobayashi around the outside at Abu Dhabi was stunning, if Vettel tried that he would just Kobayashi out.

I can not see Alonso being in any team long with a top line driver.

A year ago everyone including myself would have considered Massa a top line driver.

As far as the topic is concerned I hate to rub it in, not really :P , but was I right or was I right!! We will see Vettel in a Ferrari eventually, as I mentioned, and the key point for 2012 with Vettel/RB is that it is just an option and Felipe could be released mainly based upon his performance but I think it is inevitable.

Vettel would be good at Ferrari, but so would Kubica.

Whats this a new face? welcome to the forum, shame about your choice of f1 teams to support though :D

The reason Ferrari does not advertise is because their tag line would be...

Ferrari, do less with more.

:rofl: I was reading recently 19 top desgners picked their favourite car, the car they wished theyd desigened and none of them picked a ferrari!!! And 132 cars were picked. I must admit even I was a little suprised by that! :hehe::hehe:

I certainly feel that vettel will end up at ferrari at somepoint in his career, but i also feel that red bull with want to keep him as long as possible and martin whitmarsh has been qouted saying that he would like vettel, but i dont think that will happen
