Lately Toro Rosso haven't been competitive at all, rarely reaching Q3 and collecting only 13 points finishes this year.

I know this is probably never going to happen but if they do have a miraculous improvement and able to match red bull on performance then will they be allowed to have their glory or play second fiddle to the redbull team.

As it stands now the toro rosso team is the feeder of junior drivers so they can show they are worthy of driving the better sister car.

What, after young Vettel made the senior Reb Bull team look like amatuers in 2008. I don't think so.
Then again, late in 2009 STR were gifted the exact same the car that the senior team were running, so that Buemi and Alguesuari could run interference with the Brawns. However all the younger two managed to do was crash a lot.

Toro Rosso designed their own car for the first time this year I think as well. So how that technical venture goes, we'll have to wait and see. Well they build a car able to compete with Red Bull, doubt it. But they could get themselves higher up the feild maybe.

i think that the senior red bull team will always be the number 1 team, and toro rosso is a former sister but i doubt that they will be able to return to the heights of monza in a few years unless they get somebody like vettel again or they design a really good car, so say just for example abandon this year car, and concentrate entirely on next year's car like honda/brawn did

TR will never have the money to be at the front. Brawn where running the most expensive F1 car on a shoestring budget.

Unless TR pick up the new Newey

How do we know that Newey is not already passing on his first and second drafts of Red Bull cars, you know the ones he angrily crumbles up and throws in the bin, to Toro Rosso, eh? Or maybe Red Bull's custodian (aka very deep throat) picks them out of the trash can to pass them to Toro Rosso in a dark parking garage - follow the money.

i doubt that because the fia intervened, so thats why toro rosso had to become their own constructor and not be the offical sister team of red bull

Or maybe they will start to try out things before they arrive on the Redbull car

Honda money is no shoestring budget. I think they had one of the biggest budgets for the year; in fact most of their troubles came from securing money for 2010 and we all know how that turned out.

yeah a dream comeback on paper then went totally wrong, prehaps mercedes should have just concentrated on being the great engine supplier that they are

It didn't go totally wrong though, thats a fair over exaggeration Robert.

The Ram - read his post again, the most expensive f1 car on a shoestring budget, see the contradiction in terms? Although I might be being harsh because I'm not sure if English is your first language, anyway I think what Jabber meant was they had the expensive honda car, though of course in 2010 they only had a small budget which led to problems with upgrades and stuff.

ah yes, as we seen in the first half 0f 2009, brawn were simply put unbeatable, but by about hungary they lost their pace because at certain tracks mclaren were fast and at most tracks red bull were right there
