I think that it's fair comment really, although Michael is an immensely talented driver, he is not above using dirty tactics to get the job done. How many controversies has Michael Schumacher been involved with in his long career? the two big ones are obvious, Adelaide '94 and Jerez '97, taking a stop/go penalty after crossing the finish line a Silverstone '98, deliberately spinning his car in qualifying to block Alonso in Monaco '06 and of course the incident with Rubens in 2010, and those are just the ones that spring to mind!

Agree, but thats still a cheap shot imo!
Schumi was by no means the cleanest driver, but it doesnt mean the changes will only hurt him! There are Plenty of aggressive drivers on the grid that use some kind of (dirty) tactic/s

At Least Schumi can win a championship!

Daym straight! I'm beginning to think Sterling needs a correct publisher/editor and less direct interviews. I love the guy but that was totally :screwy: .

We all know it's a moot point anyway because unless the current stewardship system is revamped we will have the same old inconsistencies, meaning he (and others) will get away with some of the dirty tactics and not get away with others, that seems to be the nature of F1 nowadays. F1 needs more concrete rules, no ambiguity!

Why anybody still pays attention to the drivel this senile geezer graces the airwaves with on regular basis is beyond me.

Now that is harsh!

I'm not sure what is wrong with what Sir Stirling has said. He came down pretty hard on what Shumey did in Hungary this year - fair enough - that was pretty dangerous. Forcing a driver off track is very dangerous at any time, and, I think Stirling was fine in speaking out against that. What a pity there was absolutely no consistency in the application of that rule this year.

The rest of the article was about KERS and other things and was all pretty interesting what SSM had to say.

Just watch 10 of Jacky Stewarts video/interviews or what have you and you will see he is no different than Sterling is now. Constantly criticizing every little tidbit about either a car or a driver yet neither one knows what it is like too be in F1 for 30+yr's. I respect both of them but it's like talking too some of the old farts in town who only see what they had encountered and do not want to accept that times have changed, very narrow minded (blinders on if I may).

For ten years now the FIA have been trying to curtail Schumey's "It's my world, dammit, I just let you live in it" driving style. After his tête-à-tête with Mika Hakkinen at Spa in 2000 (below), the FIA gave a "clarification" of S.R. 16.1 to the stewards, which was the origin of the "one move" rule. But that clearly is not enough to curtail Mr. Schumacher's "youthful exuberance" and his dirty driving have forced the FIA to codify the rule and give it teeth, ergo the new S.R. 20.2:

"Manoeuvres liable to hinder other drivers, such as more than one change of direction to defend a position, deliberate crowding of a car beyond the edge of the track or any other abnormal change of direction, are not permitted."

Wow, the Schumi glasses are strong on this thread.

No different than the Hamilton glasses on 90+% of all the other threads on this forum  . I believe that the dislike for Schumacher is twofold on this forum.

1. Being that 90+% of the forum members here did not actually see Schumi race and only pickout his error's without realizing he had some spectacular drives.

2. The forum is 99.99% English based so naturally it's going to be an English driver who is supported. Hell I'm not German,English,French or Brazilian but I support Schumi and supported Mansell,Prost and Piquet aswell as Senna when they were racing.

His input on KERS is pretty interesting as well.

Yes it was  .

Im gonan follow suit on the Massa thread and totally agree lol

I said this abouty someone i forgot who yesterday, that the people most likely to hate or love a driver the most are the ones that have heard too much and seen to little. The only reason more people dont think Schumacher beats Senna is because he could be a cheeky little German. 7 titles do not happen by luck and unpunished dirty driving do they? Christ id be lying if i said is was interested or saw F1 pre-2007 which means i watched it just after schumis retirement. But ive seen enough videos and classic races to know half my stuff on that era.

As for Hansy the schumacher glasses are nowhere near as the Hamilton glasses on here or Alonso glasses. Not even close. Schyumacher must love how his haters can say "oh look how s*** he is in a mercedes this year, shows his real skill" these people are the ones that couldnt get a word in from 2000-2005 and now they all want to get their final digs in someone who kept them quiet for so long. if that mercedes is anywhere near suited to schumi or close to a front running car, well...youll see.
