4 cyl Turbos?? wtf??

They should have just:
- reduced to V6 and rev back up to 20,000 rpm (for the fans and sound)
- reduced car weight restriction (less fuel consumed to move lighter car)
- reduced race time to maximum 1.5 hrs = less fuel consumed (currently 2 hrs)
- restricted to 6 or 5 speed transmission

Lower rev limit = lower fuel consumption though...? Also, regarding the weight limit, i don't think it can be reasonably lower without ruining the heavier driver's lives!

I understand what you're saying about the rev limit. the fuel consumption is positively offset by the other factors (race length, car weight (which includes driver) and gear ratios).

I forgot to mention that car weight must be equal regardless of driver and that driver ballast should be included to equalize driver weight. ie. Lewis Hamilton WITH driver ballast would equal Mark Webber without driver ballast.

Just because your an engineer does not mean your correct in your assumption  . Are you an automotive engineer, that is the true question, yet even so your calculations are just that simply calculations and until they are implemented on track they would barely be 50% correct.

lol! Yeah I know we (engineers) get that all the time. Common joke lol

Nothing like hearing a joke for the 20th time huh? ...old. Let us give you a proper welcome then, post something about yourself on the introduction thread.

but there are some jokes that never get old...

HAHAHA, 20th? I've been in my career for 9 yrs now. That doesn't include when I started school which is when that joke really started to fly from well wishing but ball busting family members. "Hey are you gonna work for VIA Rail?". or singing "I've been working on the railway!! aaaaalll the live long day!!". trust me, I've heard em all, and they've been heard a hell of a lot more times than 20 HAHAHA.

funny but true story. When I graduated univ. one of my grad gifts from my uncle was a black and white striped "Engineer" hat.

First off let me say welcome to the forum  . Secondly don't start off your first post with the implication that we should 'ignore' your opinion if we disagree with you just because your are an engineer, should we be impressed by that? Some do not need an engineering degree to fathom what the series or engines need, we have experience and imho that counts for something.

Other than that welcome but I do wonder how fast your '"Engineer's" hat is? :hehe:
