Maybe AN gets a flexible rear wing that generates massive drag as it moves from low drag to braking position.

Sorry maybe my idea wasn't explained very well.

Assuming you have 2 positions "normal" which is relatively higher and downforce and drag

And "following" which has a less aggressive angle and thus less of both is good for straight line

I was speculating that the wing could be designed in such a way that during the transition from low drag to normal i.e. When the driver arrives at the braking zones. The wing generates a transient aerodynamic effect that produces alot more drag and thus allowing the car to brake even more heavily.

Remember an f1 car generates over 1g on braking just from drag

No biggy but assuming the rear wing is driver adjustable I would guess that it's position/angle will be determinded by the section and driver just as the F-duct is.

IMO im slighty concerned about the flexible rear wing because ive read somewhere about the complications because the driver has to wait for the computer to activate it through sensors or something, its just adding more complexity, i think that having the moveable front wing is a better idea

Adjustable rear wings
Under new moveable bodywork regulations for next season, drivers will be able to adjust the rear wing from the cockpit, with the current moveable front wing due to be dropped. The system’s availability is expected to be electronically governed and under initial proposals it would only be activated when a driver is less than one second behind another at pre-determined points on the track. The system would then be deactivated once the driver brakes. It would be available at all times throughout practice and qualifying and, in combination with KERS (below), should boost overtaking. Also like KERS, it won’t be compulsory.

The 2011 regs are out ^.

Was just wondering how big an impact this rear wing moving will have?

How much control do we have over anything f1? Yet we still discuss it.

Because there is still over 2 months until the first race of the 2011 season so we need something to occupy our time. Be happy we aren't bashing drivers. :D

Point being we do it all the time, so I don't see why your ranting about it now.

"I'm Seb-as-tian-Fet-tel. These changes are going to make the cars more fun to drive! Oh yes! KERS is back, and this time we will be using it unlike our previous rule changes video. Push the button and it will let you overtake. Contrary to what you're seeing in this CGI video, you won't see me pulling off these clean smooth overtakes, I will be crashing into my stupid Ozzie team-mate instead."
